Sounds like ToAU is doing just fine. People just are too busy doing everything to bother posting. Kings aren't even camped as heavily, so there is less drama.

Obviously ALL, MMOs get dragged out. They don't want you to stop playing and giving them money.

I admit I was caught up in the "yay ToAY has fixed the game" rush but more I think about it, the more I think FFXi is really past it's sell by date. The only thing keeping me logged in (and even so its more like twice a week now instead of every hour gods sends) is just to chat with friends.

best gear in the game is still the stuff released 2 years ago. That sums it up pretty much for me; sky gear + king loot. Sea gods are a joke both in terms of popping them and the drops, now the only people in sea are those like me who use it to get to tavzanian safehold AH when on lowbie jobs. Best blm hands = zenith mitts, good job JSE, limbus + assault gear. WHY ARE YOU RELUCTANT TO MAKE BETTER GEAR??! Give us tougher mobs to fight and better gear to deal with them please.

CoP wyrms drop nothing that cannot be got in other, easier ways and are plain retarded in how they are easy for people to zerg with avatars and courier carries.

I'm going to try vanguard when its released, if nothing else at least I won't be joining a server with a population dominated by people who have been playing for 6 months already and don't speak the same language as me. If it's good then I'll be likely switching my 10 quid a month fee to that instead, it not then I'll be 10 quid a month richer lol.

I understand what you say, but it's not really true. Hand/body/Legs is the only thing that didn't change over the last 2 years, but almost everything else is CoP/ToA for me now

Well yea some bits change and get better, and things like enfeebling skill on JSE has been useful, but they just don't seem to want to release entire new sets of gear that are better than entire other sets of gear.

If you wanted to be "the best equipped mage" a long time ago, you wouldn't be far off with full zenith gear, now theres new stuff to put into certain slots but black mages are still going to be wearing zenith mitts, and to get the "ultimate" gear means you end up looking like some freak who doesn't know how to dress with all the mismatched gear.

At least on taru: af body + igquira hat & legs = yucktastic. for one example.

well, the game hasn't really changed. People who were bored of this game before the expansion certainly will not find any more enjoyment from this expansion.

I like Assault, it complements other stuff like Limbus, ENMs, and BCNMs I already do.

New jobs are kind of being overplayed; I have no interest in unlocking those jobs at the moment.

Getting experience in new zones is ridiculously easy. Personally, I think SE made a poor choice in making it easier for people to get to 75.

It's easier to just log in for a bit...and actually get a few things done. To me that was big benefit of ToA.
