Off topic but it was locked before I got to say what I wanted about selling accounts.

Lets jump forward to that time when I decide to quit, I'll have spent 2 years + playing ffxi which really means ive spent 2+ years just being in some form of massive chat engine where people get to know me in an abstract way.

You say its just so you can be "done with the game" but really whats happening is the character you put a lot of time developing into (not just the job levels and stuff) is going to be still around, friends or whatever it was we call friends in online games are going to think "hey thats Led's character, fucking faggot rmt have him now" or some douche who buys it and is a total asshole that everyone on the server hates and those people that know and like you will hate it.

$109 you're getting back for all the time you spent? With Mandos + my mules + buying upgrades for my pc when it was unable to play ff but could do everything else I wanted + paying network fees etc probably has cost me over 10 times that much, I don't want any of it back because it represents a phase of my life, trying to sell it all back (and lets face it, a 75 blm & whm is going to shift for more than a 75 drg if you know where to go lol) would just make everything I did in FF seem worthless, wheras really it wasn't.

When I quit the game it's going to be done properly, with the Delete Character button and give the discs away/toss them; I'll be remembered by my friends for the person behind the character, not let them see Mandos be corrupted into some rmt master or whatever.

Plus of course, theres always the chance you might end up buying the character back yourself and end up paying 3 times as much lol.

If you want to quit for good, delete your character and content ids, then ring up SE customer support and request they delete your character info from their servers so even "Return to vanadiel" crap can't undo it.

Just 2 pence from a guy who still enjoys playing FF but doesn't know why

NP Led, I tried to sell my character too the first time I tried to quit, I had to completely restart when I decided to pick the game back up. But when you get bored, and you have the CD's, and $15 a month is really pennies to you, it's easy to start again.

Good luck in whatever is that you do with your life. Yarr is still an ass even if he didn't sell his char, I always liked you Led, even if you do sell your char.

Other people are as much as a part of my charecter as the time I've put into it. I didn't get a Clerics Brilaut, mitts, pants, Loquacious earring, Tamas, and stuff all by myself. They're hours and hours of other's time invested in "Caduceus" and I'd be a gaping goatse anus if I disrespected their input by selling the charecter, because really its not 'completely' mine nor is anyone's charecter totally theirs. (I hope my memory isn't making this up, but!) Like behind that Wyern AF2 Led got is a piece of my effort behind that Dynamis raid that produced it. But really, I'm pretty jaded, so I don't think of you any differenr Led. Its just an unfortunate way to see a player/charecter leave the game.

Oh and on the topic of selling your character. It's probly better kept in the hands of a close friend, so if you ever do have a bored afernoon and wanna say hi to some old friends you can. You've got at least 100 days racked up.
