He made a thread or post about that on this forum, good luck digging it up though. The screenshot is floating out there somewhere.

kinda new school: When RMT never even heard about Sky! Much less Ranks or Zilart Mission 1
When 1 LS would just go up to Sky and virtually own it because it was there day to do so (like no one else was even there)

Old school:
People were actually "nice" to one another
Yhoater Jungle screams "Stop zoning Gobs!!!"
You thought Raise was the greatest thing on the planet until your whm popped dead in Delkfutts entrance from the wights/elementals that hit him on the other side
When you were acquiring or seeing items that weren't even on the main ah yet (still happens from new stuff, but I'm talking about before even +1's were popping on the ah)
Kirin took 1-2 hours to kill
You remember a lot of the old school players (you may have even talked to them)
You never even knew about the "other section" of KRT
Advanced jobs and even getting a Subjob was cool
Crypt Ghost, Spook, Hoo Mjuu, Serket etc. were all actually campable

ahhh good times...

easy way to determine if you're old school:
if you hit lvl 75 at or before October 2004

But this makes it seem like only getting to 75 made you oldschool. I can think of lots of people I know who started playing at the NA release and leveled slower than I did--I started in the November after the release. When I think of "oldschool" I think about people who were not necesserily all in the same LS or who all new eachother, I think about people who paved the way for other NA players and the players who watched and participated in the paving. Things like AF, limit breaks, Avatars, and the such.

I leveled perfectly fast (though not my subjob, haha) but certain complications forced me to quit really early.

well being max level at a certain time is only an indication, not definer. like metalmilitia was definitely old school, but his level was low for a long time. but, that didn't prevent him from participating in many of the events that NA did for the first time, which is maybe a better indicator of old school. people who started at NA release but remained perpetual clueless lowbies shouldnt count (not referring to anyone in particular).

Talisin was one of the last original NAs to level to 75 from launch. Then he was like the third CKD member with three level 75 jobs.

I think I was the lowbie forever haha. I made 75PLD in (lol) November '05. I made 75WAR in January '06 and then 75MNK in October '06 haha. btw, I started the day before NA release.

There is nothing wrong with that lol. I actually feel sorry for people that hit 75 insanely fast from playing too much. It means (to me) they do nothing irl.

Noodlebrain was the first 75 NA I ever encountered. That was around June 04 when I started playing FFXI. I don't know when he got there, but I'm sure he belongs on that list.
