Post subject:  PLD Weapon? Espadon +1 or Glutonny?
Hello !!

I was wondering, what i should take with pld67, the Espadon +1 or Gluto? Asked to many friends and some was saying Gluto for the Vit+7 and some said Gluto had a lot of low things. I can`t make my choice, help me :P

Get Espadon +1, well depends on which is cheaper.. my perma PLD had a Gluttony Sword but he quit FFXI before he even hit level 65.

When I played PLD for exp I used Gluttony til Espadon + 1 level, then Espadon + 1 til 70, then Company Sword til 75, then Joyeuse. I would have used Joyeuse > Company if I had it then. If I remember correctly Espadon + 1 was cheaper than Gluttony Sword.

Espadon + 1 is better for exp than Gluttony. In exchange for a few VIT you gain less delay and more attack. It helps with hate and you won't notice a difference in the damage you take (I didn't anyways).

This info is from several years ago...there may be even better choices for exp nowadays.

Guess i'll take Espadon +1 now, thx a lot you help me make my choice :P I was really confused, btw can you tell me if i should use life belt? Someone told me to use it, but i'm not sure. Accuracy +10 should really help me in pld?!

Use whatever your RSE belt is. In most cases that is the best to use until Warwolf.

Sword doesn't matter, since you have like 10% accuracy and hit for less than 20 when you do connect, you are using defender 100% of the time right?

Well, i really think equipment is not the most important, as long as you do your job correctly. But i'm tired of all the people that tell you what you should use as equipments, so i wanted to be sure to have the best equipment that i should take. Personnally i really don't care people gears as long as they are good with their job, but most of peoples don't think like me!! So i had enough that ppl told me what i should use, so i wanted to shout some mouths ^^ I really shouldn't care of what others think, but i'm like that :P Thx guys for all your advice, hope all criticals will stop like that :D For a while... :)

Hume rse 50 belt has HP+30 and some vit. I used the mithra belt til warwolf, and gluttony sword til tutelary>durandal, but now there's Macuahuitl+1 for enmity.

I saw a video of a guy trying to tank maat and failed (dunno what the pld goal is), but then he went in and just did it like a DD and won. Couldn't tell you what equip he used 'cause he .dat'd all of it.

I'd suggest getting 100-200% tp, maybe 300% if you wanna risk time, and use spirit's within first, then use swift blade every time after that.

Also, you should be fine, since you have Invincible and much more MP than I did (Galka)

EDIT: Oh yeah, didn't use any items other than IW, except a Vile Elixer+1 that was still being used when Maat gave up....what a waste of gil haha
