In a few interviews i read, the Dev team said they'd have "more than 1 new job" so it's gonna be 2 or maybe 3, Time Mage is definitely gonna be in there, given that the theme will be time travel.

The expansion will release 15% complete as usual and end up with a broken ass job and one that totally sucks. Maybe new zones and some new game mode to keep people busy for a couple months at most. The story will be mediocre and I am sure there will be at least one decent new music track for a zone.

ffxi soundtrack music still accounts for about 60% of my iTunes and car air time.

Why :? it's good for video game music but it's just a melody looped over and over and over

do you like any of DJ Plaeskool's stuff?

FFXI soundtrack is pretty awful compared to most other FF ost. Dynamis xarc, final zm bc, lufaise/misareuax, castle zvahl keep, garden of ruhmet, and aydeewa subterranae are the only ffxi songs I'd actually listen to outside the game.

Quite a few of these including the FF main theme with Nobuo Uematsu conducting the orchestra.

If I had FFXI music on my IPOD I'd be very sad listening to it, and I'd probably start playing again.

It's definately one of the better videogame sountracks....you know....in the zones that actually have music. I hate that so many zones in FFXI have "wind music".

that's definitely not nobuo uematsu

edit: watching that makes me want to pick bassoon back up. that instrument is amazing.

ok so whats going on with this expansion? Its like people know next to dick about it, and yet its coming out within a couple of weeks.

No real information has been released lol. What about the other job thats supposed to come out. Where is it?

If dancer is a tanking job i'm going to throw up.

whisp man, i totally know what you mean, i play WoW at the moment but the only reason why i havent quit is because alot of my irl friends play it.. ffxi definatly had more of a grasp on me than any other game so far, and its ruined most games for me.. other than the fact that ive worked on a few myself (wanna throw more industry jokes at me ponuh?)

i do like the music too.. but man listening to it makes me miss the old days of playing that game, the leveling, community, ect... how do you deal with it?

i think what keeps me in line is that i gave my character to severus who got it banned,
that and my roommate (thunderstomp) knows the life-draining danger of playing ffxi again and has snapped me out of it dozens of times

i actually did purchase the game not long ago, played for 10 minutes, and then had nightmares all night about how my life's path was at a fork and if i took the ffxi fork it would mean failing at life. that snapped me out of it.

for now, school, ps3 guitar hero and folklore, and hanging out with friends playing halo or something, those all keep my fun level at the bare minimum needed to sustain a coherent existence. ffxi was literally the most fun i have ever had, and i think the whole system of the game will not be matched for many years. my guess is the next FF mmo... and that will probably equal the end of my real life

You should be alright now that you have a new gen console. It takes time to pull away from that FFXI grasp and start enjoying all the other games.

There is a ton of good games coming out for PS3 still. I heard Epic may even release Gears of War for PS3 based off the PC version (which is more refined with an additional chapter). Mostly because of bad blood between Epic with Microsoft. I don't think it's true, but one of my friends was babbling about it last weekend. I haven't read anything on it.
