The stupidity amazes me.
These people say they wanted to have a nice peaceful thread with pics from the weddings. And they continuously pour gas on the fire. How stupid can you be?

The appropriate response to your original statement would be:
I disagree, I think it's an ok idea. Besides, it's their gil, let them do whatever they want with it.

No flaming, no gas for the fire. Just a simple "I disagree."

I do kinda think it's a stupid idea. However, if my wife played, I wouldn't really mind to spend the 100k or whatever it costs. But she doesn't play the game, has no interest in it, so I'm not going to waste my hard-earned gil on something trivial and stupid.

On the other hand, even if I did think it was a "wonderful idea, everyone should do it!" type of thing, I wouldn't go be a boring, sorry-ass flamer. Seriously, I about fell asleep reading that crap, and I'm at work. Ok, I read stuff on forums to keep from falling asleep between calls, but that really was the worst flaming I've ever read. Can we say grasping at air here? Geez.... go home, people.

I think I saw Movien in Ghelsba a week or so ago. I was "stealing logs" from all the newbies. /shrugs. I can't help it that I know how to macro using Hatchets and they can't find the points as fast. "Tab-key is ur freindz :D " -- immitation of the newbies and they're "U Stol mah tree"

What really disturbs me, is the growing trend of level 3's up in Ghelsba logging. No subjob or anything. This kills me, because they all have full logging gear (which I can't yet afford the full set, due to picking up my missing BarXXXX spells). How are they doing it? They're undercutting my elm log prices /fume... LET THEM WASTE THEIR GIL ON WEDDINGS!!

Maybe then they can't afford hatchets. :D Saves me the competition (which I don't mind) and being cussed out by them when I beat 'em to all the logging points. :)


(Edit: the difference between my "ranting" and their "flaming" is the simple fact that they're cussing someone for an opinion or whatnot. I'm ranting about things that happened to me, not at the people.... I think I've added a new person to my /blist every time I've gone logging in Ghelsba because they've cussed up and down at me over /say for stealing their logs .. I mean come on, if I'm "stealing logs" talk it over reasonably. One person sent three /tells to me of "wtf" .. nothing else, just "wtf" when I got to the point first. Was that necessary, really?...

People just ask for trouble. Maybe they don't mean to, but when you flame/cuss/whatever someone, you bring it upon yourself. Gas added to fire looks really cool IRL, but when it comes to an argument, that's just stupid.)

[PS: yes, I have experience with the gas added to fire thing IRL. hahaha Oops]

Could be. I thought of that. But I thought: If I had used my mule to go logging someplace, I'd at least want it high enough that if I got aggro, I wouldn't be one-shotted. I mean, I've seen some of my "competition" get smacked around by a few orcs. (it's actually quite humerous...and if they've been nice, I try to heal and/or Waterga/Banishga to save them...or Raise them if they die...)

(errr... admittedly, if they're being a jerk to me, I laugh IRL at them for getting killed, and go back to logging the logging point next to their body... hehehe I'm evil sometimes, so what? I also wear my logging gear + RSE for the pieces I'm missing. So it's all "All Jobs" equipment. You can't tell I'm a WHM and able to Raise or help them unless I feel like it. Mostly, I'll help anyone that's polite, not asking for PL, and hasn't been a complete jerk to me.)

I was really tempted to register for KI just to argue on that one... Those people were fishing for trouble. I don't do fishing in this game, but they had to have bought the best bait around. (thinking back to Vurin's post, wouldn't it be the Master Bait? heh heh) Ahem, anyway...

No one's asked me. But then again, I'd have a few choice words for 'em if they did. Since most of my LS knows I'm married IRL, they'd have to be pretty stupid to even ask. Even if it is just "in game," my wife would be pissed, and it's not worth my gil. After all, the female character gets all the dresses and stuff, what do we get? A stupid ring? Wonderful....

People only want to do it for the dress anyway. Who gives a flying ... about the rest? I think the only problem is, they think the Opaline Dress is the one you get for weddings. But I've heard the actual wedding dress, etc. is non-tradeable! Haha! Suckers... People that think they'd give out a dress worth 100k+ on AH for you to buy off doing the wedding for, what 20k? Who cares the price. Anyway, that's what I've heard. Stupid....

(Not only that, but whisp has a point. This game is mostly male population. The fact that there's a lot of "Male Mithras"... That's just creepy. "Woohoo, I'm marrying a guy, but he looks like a Mithra so who cares!!!"... uhhhhh... yeah)

lol I actually have it pretty easy. I file insurance claims on cell phones. Person calls up, tells me their info, tells me what's wrong with the phone, I put 'em on hold for 2 minutes, give 'em the claim number and hang up. That's about it, for the normal calls. (See my RANTING on the other part of the forum for the OTHER kind of calls lol)

Anyway, we're allowed 2 mins of hold time, and it usually takes me a minute. That gives me time to spare. On top of that, we're not busy except on Monday mornings (sometimes all day monday) and Saturdays it varies--sometimes busy, sometimes not.

So, yeah ... my job sucks, I'm bored, and I post. Wanna /befriend me and give me someone to talk to? lol :wink:

(just took a call, took about 5 seconds. "The phone is in my son's name.." "ok, have him call us then..." [end].. geez)

Anyway...

Two of the guys in my LS made female characters and since they are joined at the hip most of the time anyway. I asked them if they were going to try and see if they could have a same sex lesbian wedding lol
