World Shifters you mean.

And yes CKD is in talks although the more i think about it the more I dont want to. Maybe if all the NA would shift with us.

Asura was the last new world added right? Isn't it considered a pretty crappy place because a bunch of HNM LS shifted there and it became a royal clusterfuck? Wouldn't it be better to keep all the NA here and let a portion of the JP shift off?

Disclaimer: All info relating to Asura is merely what I think I remember whorum foring.

That's really one of the main reasons behind not wanting to shift. There's a chance the "fresh" server is even worse that what we have already.

You need a balance so that every LS can get a claim on some HNMs every once in a while, but never has any complete control over it. Killing Behemoth once a week would be exciting, killing him every damn day would bore the hell out of everyone. But having so many people camping him that you never get to kill him for like 3 months, then people just get pissed.

You will always have a balance (maybe not a perfect one) on a developed server, because new HNM LS don't just appear out of nowhere, people for the most part are slowly recruited into current LS. World shifting is irreversable, and I'd hate to end up on a server with 10+ other NA HNM LS camping the same stuff.

Think about it, why would people levels 1-70 even bother shifting? The entire server population is going to compromise of nothing but 70+ HNM LS, hoping to get a "better chance".

Let's not forget the whole "leaving your friends behind" thing. Not everyone will want to change, and not everyone can. People leaving the server and never seeing them again is just as bad, imo, as quitting the game.

I wonder how many gil farmers are going to transfer over to try to corner the market...

Of course, if your reputation is already trashed beyond belief on your current server, this would be the perfect opprotunity to start fresh.

Not that anyone has that bad a reputation...right? :?

...you know the funny thing is, half of the NA player probably would if you asked them.

ZeroEffect is currently considering doing a 'World Shift'.

Is Ifrit one of the original servers? What was the affect of the last world shift on Ifrit? IE did some of the other Linkshells leave and give you more room here?

Ifrit was an original server. Asura was the new server they made two weeks after the NA release. This time around they are making three new servers.

I'd probably shift if I knew the 4 pillar NA LS moved as well(FS, Hoku, Sent, and CKD)

Also, have the HNM LSs ever gotten together to maybe...consider setting a calander type thing based on spawn time? I.E Rotate who gets the 24hr spawns everyday, etc?

Post subject:  Asura

Hi, I'm a lvl 72 NA blm on Asura. I read the forums cause I like your screenshots and Mikey and Yarr crack me up. I am part of a small HNM LS on Asura. There is usually a lot of competition at all pops at any time of day. It is true that some HNM LS's did move to Asura at the beginning. The most prominent being Will, I think maybe Arist did also, both comprised many many JP players with many many nice items who still feel the need to take Fafnir and Adamantoise and Behemoth ect after killing them every day for a year (and more before that I imagine). There are usually about 20-30 people at every HNM pop, I'm not sure how this compares to you, but yeah it's crowded. And now that the game is even older and more popular I image that there will be many HNMLS's moving to new servers = clusterfuking voke botters and packet niffers. ;; It pisses me off too that JPs can overrun us and cheat all the time. It also pisses me off when I read on the JP BBS shitaraba that the members of some of these ls's are drug dealers IRL. I see you guys have a similar problem.

Pooter, you pretty much sumed up how our server is as well. We may not have 20-30 people at every spawn, but we have alot of JP Bots that packet sniff like you said, and know where and when it will pop. Kinda sad, but yeah, not much you can do about it.

Im lucky enough to be a mod on the VN forums and this gets me in touch with different people on all sorts of servers.

After looking into it i cant say it would be a good idea.

I personally think it's a dumb idea to move any na hnm from ifrit to another world. I mean... do you really want to make it easier for jp hnm ls on ifrit. I can't speak for anybody else, but I would rather stay and face the hardships of this server. I can imagine the jp cheerin IRL because the NA community decided to give up and ship out

How many NA and JP HNM LS are on Ifrit. I'm bored at work and have an idea to crunch some numbers.

FS has also discussed this a little in LS chat and i dont think one of us said that we would switch. I think we have all put in too much effort to just uproot and leave this server, and like someone else said it would feel like handing the JPN's a victory, Who knows maybe some of the JPN LS's will move. It would be a good idea to have an EU-NA onry server, we have enough experience now to help out the new EU players, dont worry the vast majority of EU speaks pretty good English. Going to a EU-NA only server i may consider that.

Post subject:

yea they should open 2 NA-EU servers and 1 JP server for those that want to get away from each other personally i dont mind JP players but alot of JP hate NA/EU and vice versa so spliting those that have these grudges up might be good not to mention the whole lag think around the world would be more confined ;)

Author:  Dinav [ Thu Sep 23, 2004 4:14 pm ]
Post subject:

Yes, I posted saying the NA-EU servers would be good....3 or 4 months ago. It was fairly long, with reasons, etc. to justify it.

i would move to a Na-EU server in a heartbeat, im still thinking about moving to a new server anyways just for fun
