Supposedly they nerfed all foods so now depending on your job, they'll do different things. :/ No more mithkabobs for all melee. |

At first this sounds like it sucks. But This could means some melee jobs have food thats more effective for them (SAM for on) than just generic kabobs. Im gonna let this one play out a little and see how it goes. |

I've think I've seen Yarr use food less times than I've seen him rest using a Dark Staff. The fact that I've never seen Yarr rest with a Dark Staff need not apply. |

I feel sorry for all of those bards who slaved over the Opo-opo crown, as now Panamas only last 5 minutes. Think of the kind of inventory space this shit is gonna take up. |

The fact that I've never seen Yarr rest with a Dark Staff need not apply. Yeah I never use food and I never use darkstaff. I have the CP mace thats +7mp while healing. I also have auto refresh x2 with smn sub and af2 vest. Food is for fat people. |

Apparently along with new effects come new synth combines... http://vnboards.ign.com/FFXI_Crafting/b22595/79966193/?10 I hope some data regarding effects vs. class is compiled soon. As a amature cook, 56, this is interesting. |

I can't even find a new listing of food effects to decide what I'll be using. :/ Sams have it easy now, since riceballs are now the ultimate food. |

Perhaps I'll make an Ogre pumpkin or two and revisit those as a ranger. Would only need a few per day, and I normally tote around 3 or 4 stacks of meat kabobs anyway. |

Well, miths do nothing for ranged attack now. So unless you meele'd strictly, there isn't much point in them for RNG. |

What about Salmon Subs? Aren't those very rng friendly? I might spend a day by the new Taru and eat a bunch of crap to see what happens... |

Ya, some other food type is for RNG now. Meat Dishes are for pure straight up melee. Rice balls are for SAM. And whatever else for mages and tanks. I don't really care about those classes, so. |

Well, SE states that ranged attack is still boosted by meat dishes, but this isn't as useful as accuracy arguably. Testing the overall efficacy of traditional meat kabobs VS what now seems to be ranger food (vegtable dishes); Quote: Vegetable dishes
Mainly raise AGI and ranged accuracy. Example: Pea soup , is still going to be pretty subjective. Since I am an accuracy whore atm, I will probably be exploring these other dishes. |

sooo umm, should I just keep using mithkas or what? lol, i have 2 stacks of them ![]() |

Depends on how much attack you gain by eating them. I would assume that as a DRG meat mithkabobs are still probably the best bet. |

I am curious about this: Quote: Mushroom dishes
Mainly raise MND, maximum MP, and enmity. Example: Roast mushrooms +enmity food? No longer will this be the choice of some healers, PLD's to become fungi friends? |

Apple pie only lasted about 5 min on my galka blm. I switched to melon pies (2.8k per stack of 12 in sandy) and they worked pretty much like apple pies used to work. |
