I have no clue if this has been brought up before in any other posts, but I'm kinda curious to see what players would like to see added as the months go buy in terms of equipment, areas, jobs, whatever.

1.) A good set of RDM JSE. At level 70, rdm have the option of buying the ogre JSE. Looking at the stats the only thing that benefits a rdm in any sort of way is the boots which give I think mnd +4 if I rememebr correctly. Honestly I would like to see something that gives Elemental Magic skill + and Dark Magic skill + mostly. The fact that DRK have higher Elemental magic skill than RDM still kinda bugs me, lol.

2.) A good polearm ws. I have no problems with DRG. I bash them like everyone else jokingly, but they can do some pretty consistent damage. The problem with them is, their ws reallllly suck. So, in an attempt to further balance the jobs, I think polearm should be given a kick. Hell make Impulse Drive not suck to all hell. That'd be a start.

3.) A new job. Doesn't really matter what it is. Anyone who knows me knows when I start playing another job I get bored with it in a couple hours. I know Ilma and I have talked about having a job with robots or some kind of construct. I'm just bored of watching people do the same shit with jobs and when I try and level a job I think, "Oh, this is exactly what ther people do, how boring" *sells gear*

4.) More escort missions. As much as I like doing Necropolis escort every week I'd like to try some new places or maybe add certain stipulations to escorts instead of just a time limit.

5.) New places for high levels to XP! They added Ulegurand range for 75s to XP with the expansion... that's about it. There's always parties in sky at night or people whoring statues for Ullikummi. In fact I wish there were alternative places to xp for every level. Example I saw 182 people in the dunes last night leveling THF. Shakrami had 3 pt and Korroloka has 2 as well... I mean wtf.

6.) Maybe a slight level cap raise. I have no problem with raising the cap to 80- only, -only- if they bump convert to 41. BLM/RDM with convert =unbalanced. heh

7) New JA for WHM RDM and BLM. Good news, mages only get one JA. Divine Seal, Convert and Elemental Seal. How boring ;D

That's about all I can think of for now.

K thought about more.

8.) RDM should get reflect. It's a one time use thing. Cast reflect on someone and have it bounce off them onto the enemy for a lot more damage like old school FF games. It'd be great for stuff in sky and possibly sea when we get there. Just don't use a ga spell... haha.

9.) A new craft- enchantment. I think it would be cool, albeit probably very expensive to be able to craft weapons and armor with enchantments instead of just HQ or HQ2 or whatever. Of course by doing this people would have to level subcrafts (smithing, goldsmithing, alchemy) just like any other job. Instead of additonal effect: whatever being placed on the weapons when you buy them, why not craft it? (Yes I realize most of these weapons are alchemy.)

Well, I'm just going to focus on what I would like done with dragoons first off:

1. Absolutely, most importantly either change the polearm weapon skills so they don't suck so much, or add in new ones. One thing I have thought of before is maybe they could seperate Spears and Lances into 2 seperate weapon classes, and give them seperate weapon skills. Polearm weapon skill only really start to suck after lvl 55 or so. Hell, when I first got penta at 49....I have to say I could outdamage anyone of any class...I was easily doing 2 pentas per fight until the TP nerf...which happened not too long after I got too that lvl haha.

2. Call Wyvern should not be our 2hour ability. It should be a ~15 minute reuse ability and we should get a new 2hour that uses the wyvern in some way.

3. I would like to see wyverns do more. Just more. One idea I have is for them to do some sort of divebomb attack when we use Jump or High Jump.

4. Expand our armor selection!!! My god...we can barely wear anything useful for a melee class. This has frustrated me for a very long time. If you look back at old FF games, dragoons have always been heavy armor classes up there with paladins/dark knights/warriors/etc. The ONLY exception I can think of is the lancers in FF tactics...somehow they got switched to lighter armor there.

5. Ranged weapons. Okay.......they changed pebbles so we can use them...sigh. At least make them stack to 99 or something. Also, give us javelins or something...lol, for some reason i still get people that ask me if i can pull in exp parties.

6. Polearms need some kind of AoE weapon skill. I honestly have no clue why they don't already.

7. An AoE jump attack. I dunno, I think it would be cool.

8. Dragoons should get to ride big dragons instead of chocobos :P
.....oh, and ride bahamut instead of airships :D

As for other stuff:

1. Raise the lvl cap, but they just need to just take precautions for stuff like convert from sub. They can either just not make the ability available from sub, or make it less potent somehow. Same goes for other abilities that might get abused. Not that raising the cap would affect me really since i havent even hit 75 yet, I just want to see it done lol.

2. umm...i want them to put in giant 2handed hammers. cause they are cool.

3. Okay...here is where i could come off looking like an ass. They need to either tone down rangers and black mages, or buff up everyone else. I want balance, then i'll be happy. I dont have a problem with rangers, it just seems like EVERYONE is a ranger these days, just because they can do lots of damage. I remember back in late 2003/early 2004...rangers were very very rare. I think in all my playing to lvl 30 warrior, and up to lvl 40ish dragoon, I partied with maybe 3 or 4 rangers total. Now...rangers are freaking everywhere. Some people don't even like to party unless there is a ranger with them. Just kinda gets on my nerves that there aren't very many people playing the job because its the one they like best. Too many are playing it just because they want do OMGMOREDAMAGETHANYOU and tell everyone else they should go (Mog house)>(Job change)>(Ranger)


Wooo, that was fun. I like to come up with stuff I want in the game every so often. I'll post more of what I've thought of before if I can remember it.

1. Nomad Moogles in Selbina and Mhaura. There is really no reason they shouldn't be there already. (is there?)

2. Additions to escort quests. I would like to see some escort quests in different areas and/or make them have different completion requirements. It would also be nice if they actually gave a comparable amount of xp for the time they require. Time to get quest + going to escort location + doing quest = 1 hour for 1000 xp? :/

3. Experience points in Dynamis. Yes, I know we already get those wonderful xp scrolls for 90 xp or so, and yes, it seems a little insane to ask for xp from monsters we are already paying a million gil to kill so they can not drop af2, but xp would sure be nice.

4. Offical guild recipe lists, skill level caps, food effect lists. SE has never released any of these... probably the most annoying one of these now, with the huge changes to food effects, is not really knowing which foods do what. Many have been discovered through trial and error but some are still unknown. Is it too much to ask to know what an ingame item does? :s

5. New places for all levels to xp. A level 10-20 place that is adjacent to Jeuno would be *really* awesome.

6. Outpost warp to sky.

7. Teleport to Lufaise Meadows or Misreaux Coast. (New spell, new telepoint) If not that, then even putting chocos there would be a nice addition.

8. New JAs for mages would be nice. Even something for bard and summoner would be cool, perhaps a JA that makes their next song/bloodpact more accurate or powerful? ("Song/Summoning Seal"?) Actually JA for any job would be nice as long as it doesn't unbalance things.

9. Abj. that drop off the three kings should also drop off gods as rare drop, or Kirin. (*dream*)

Basically I would like to see more variety in jobs/abilities/playstyle, more tests of skill, and more reward for that skill. OK stopping before my post is longer that SS's original post haha.

edit: I lied, more to add.

I have agree with Havok about dragoon SP. That their *job defining ability* is their two hour is sort of ridiculous.

I also see his point about blm and rng... toning them down or beefing everyone else up would be good I guess, but asking for balance just seems to bring about more imbalance, heh. -_-;;

To Havoc's point about the new flood of RNGs on server (which would include my level 52 RNG), the answer is twofold. In August, I had WHM at 50 and RNG at 40, and I kinda preferred RNG of the 2. However, I had like NO money at all, so the idea of xping RNG past 40, which I got to by leveling with a friend who didnt might that I only used the 800 a stack iron arrows from the Gob NPC is Lower Jeuno, was a dream. The prospects of all the arrows I would need, plus NIN (which I dont think I had at 20 even >.>) was beyond my abilities. WHM, by contrast, is cheap and I could easily get it to 75 without spending much at all. Now, once I got to 75, my abilities and resources opened greatly, including having some relatively high level crafts that could support my RNG habit. My story is hardly unique I imagine, and is why RNG is among the 3 most popular second job choices (with NIN and SMN, SMN being a second job of course with Fenrir and other avatars obtained from first main). Additionally, many of us are aware that only about 3 jobs do consistent dmg against high-end HNMs and Gods, BLMs, SMNs, and RNGs. Besides, RNG is just a TON of fun (which is why I liked it in the first place ^^).


And Mys is so right about needing all abjs. available in sky, or maybe sea now. They are supposed to be the blessings of gods, thus they should kinda be God drops only. And the 3 kings arent exactly Gods on earth or whatever.

i think they should just add a new continent. give it a new country to start in, maybe a new job, and that would add alot more area's to lvl in.

as far as rdm jse, well its not job specific but errant is pretty fuckin dope for rdm. and yeah i would like to see another exp spot that has IT shit to 75, im hoping sea will offer this. as far as any other level its the players fault that theres only X places you can exp at Y level. theres alot of places you can make nice exp at lower levels but its the fact all the players flock to teh same beaten path over and over.

I don't really care if they add more avatars, but adding the lvl 75 bloodpacts would be nice. the lvl 70 bloodpacts are purely phisical (( exception of ramuh and ifrit)) and having the pure elemental bloodpacts that the prime avatars can use would be the perfect compliment to the power smns already have at 70. Would just be a nice perk, I think.
Heavenly Strike, Wind Blade, Grand Fall, Geo Crusher, ect. Dealing with the weak elemental version 4 spells avatars get, those lvl 75 bloodpacts would be a nice addition. Maybe they could be quested at lvl 75 like a WSNM type thing...that would be cool. A job ability aside from our 2 hour would be nice, too, lol.

I also think they need to give DRGs a new wyvern at higher levels. A bigger, more powerful one.

4. WHM only JA: "Full Cure". Fully cures one party member. 10 minute recast. Things like this could separate WHM from RDM a bit.
5. Change Holy to function like Ancient Magic. 17 second cast for around 400 damage.
6. Reverse that damn TP nerf.
7. Speed up the flow of battle in general. Lower the delay by an equal amount on all weapons, and decrease delay on enemies' attacks. When I play with weapons like scythe I nearly fall asleep between swings.

1. Bard needs a couple more abilities ... as a 75 bard i have 4 abilities and 1 of them was totatly useless until they upgraded it in a patch and by that time i was well past 75... oh ya mabey some sort of weird bard instrument WS ahahahha hot.

2. Monk needs some more throwable items talthum and the athe-... however you spell it are rarely for sale or make pebbles stack to 99 why monk would need range i dont know i just know i have the urge to herbal... err skill up throwing.

Now this one would be alot of trouble but...

3. Our Ls was talking bout this while back but, Have some event mabey 2 or 3 times a year where it is like "If you have the computer version of FFXI" the begining movie where the city is being attacked have huge armies attack the city and anyone can join and you have to fight off orc's yaggy's or quadov's so on. Or if SE doesnt want to involve the normal cities they can add some sort of huge island where it is a trading city and you were sent there to protect it and the battle would take place there :Note: would be 2 or 3 times a year so when thats not going on they just take the island off the map , but only a dream lol.

Responses-

Jubaku: Ni is highly unlikely. I think that's why the made the additonal effect on relic katana paralyze.

Cure IV gets worthless after like 65 unless you're pt with a nin. Cure V still owns, heh.

I agree with the rest, especially the holy bit.

And yeah Ruby, Errant is good, but I'd like to see like maybe a boots or something that increase elemental magic skill. I don't need mnd. heh

Oh yea, I forgot to mention that I think a dragoons wyvern should grow and change and gain abilities as you lvl up higher. Eventually becoming you know...an actual dragoon, lol. Too bad I wouldn't be able to watch it grow very much now T_T.

Yeah dragoons should get better stuff. I always liked pting with dragoons cause most were good players. Not their fault their job of choice was screwed over by Square. The wyvern growing doesnt seem likely but Drg's should get a lot better gear and WS's and Abilities. I always felt bad for my friends that were drgs and sat around in jeuno all day or had to solo EP to get their lvls.

Dragoons need more multi-hit WS, or a boost to WS in general.

The DRG 2hr is kind of lame, I suppose. In exchange, what they should do is take the idea of Spirit Link and make a new JA that gives the Dragoon Raise Sickness, but revives the wyvren. Simply letting a DRG call a new pet every 15 minutes would probably be a bit too powerful. The new 2hr could be something like a multi-hit jump move that maybe hits for 4-8, sort of like doing a Kraken Club version of the regular Jump attack.

Full Cure would be nice. Some other move that a WHM could do to cure a bit of life without using up MP once every 15 minutes.

All abjurations need to be obtained via sky-like ways. Having some be drops from the 3 kings only makes it near impossible for NA players to get a shot at them.

Blue Mage - Blue Magic has played a role in more FF games than it hasn't. (Stratgo, Enemy Skill Materia, Quistis, That frog thingy from FFIX with the big tongue, Kimari, Gun Mages)

But I don't want to see the level cap raised, since that would cause 5 more levels of new armor and weapons to be introduced that would obsolete pretty much everything we already have, not to mention the issues it'd cause with things like Convert, Haste, Stona on subs, further obsoleting WHM (That is until you die in your EXP party and bitch in LS about wanting an R3 :P).

Holy has a cooldown time of 1 minute. 1 MINUTE. Holy should do more than 190 damage. It should do like 400-500 damage for that cooldown length to be justified. Having a WHM deal 400-500 damage once a minute would not overpower the job, in my opinion.

Most importantly, though, I don't think the economy should be entirely player-based. I think that S-E should be price floors/caps on stuff, so that you don't have to pay 20+ mil for something, just because your ping isn't fast enough to beat the JP LS that has been monopolizing that camp for ages.

That or make all of those big ticket items, like Peacock Charm, Kraken Club and Speed Belt RareEx, so that people don't camp it for gil, only for need.

i think if anything smn should be nerfed some how. it's kinda gay how u can get 50 of 1 job and kill the hardest dragons in the game. same with bst. i think they should find a way to prevent this. being able to grab 50 bst or 50 smn and kill any HNM in the game is kinda gay

forgot to mention level cap, i dont think its needed at all. with merits you can get certain stats what a level 80 character would. and it would change all this EP shit that still aggros to not aggro.

as far as the whm gimped bit (which i was always big on callin whm gimped haha) ive gained some respect for the whm class after leveling rdm, whm do have a place in alot of pts (ok still useless in other pts haha). they have a much higher clear mind than a rdm does and can sub smn which balances with a rdms convert (and buffing a pt with single buffs every half hour is gonna totally destroy 1/3 possible converts, cuz you god damn pld dont buy your single buff spells and bitch people get a nin haha) and yeah cure V and regen 3 owns. but alot of it is just that most rdm dont enjoy subbing whm and watching status effects in place of keeping on top of, well, the 8 billion things a rdm wants to keep on top of heh. i dont think whm really need a buff to divine magic but erase II (2 effects erased and its own recast time) and looong recast spells like paralyna-ga would really help balance the class out more.

only thing for rdm i would really like to see is some rdm exclusive enfeebles, even if its like slow/para/blind II. the majority of the spells a rdm uses is the same fucking shit you were using in qufim island haha. and its bs that nin get more potent slow and shit than a rdm :P

3. Okay...here is where i could come off looking like an ass. They need to either tone down rangers and black mages, or buff up everyone else. I want balance, then i'll be happy. I dont have a problem with rangers, it just seems like EVERYONE is a ranger these days, just because they can do lots of damage.


RNG and BLM arent melee jobs, dunno why you are comparing yourself to them. Both are nuking jobs and in EXP PTS are for group TP management - BLM dont accumulate dmg from attack cycles and the amount RNGs accumulate is negligable (despite what most of them may think - check log parsers sometime).

MNK/WAR, WAR/NIN (haste greedy jobs) are the heaviest melee DD but all the 2nd rate DD have stuff going for them too so it evens out. People overlook stuff like being able to WS twice as much (SAM, NIN), or trigger large SC effects with hate management (DRK). I never played DRG but id imagine the dmg/tp accumulated from Jumps and wyvern attacks evens things out. 600 polearm WS + 200 breath attack isnt bad - plus DRG can aggro reset with super jump.


Anyway...

Dokumori needs to be buffed heh.
