So a good 15 seconds after I killed something with my NPC we were walking to kill then next thing and she dinged level 32. Does she get XP for just being out? Or maybe it was just lag? But she dinged while not fighting.. I was wondering if anyone knew about that.. And also does it help to fight higher level things? Or things that'd be good XP for level 32's? |

ThThe best theory I heard was this. NPCs get XP at timed intervals. So like ever 2 minutes they get all the XP they made since the last interval. Then again I don’t have an NPC so I have no idea. It just sounds right based on all the stuff Ive read. (I wasn’t on these forums cause they were blocked, but god knows I was on FFXIOnline and some other smaller forums. |

I've noticed everytime when my NPC levels up it happens about 5-7 seconds after I killed a mob. I think it's just lag or something. |

lag no way he gest xp just being out. And yea it happens to me too... mine is 43 now and everytime he dings its a few sec after the mob is dead |

yeah it's a little lag always 2-3 seconds after a kill. |

Fighting mob that would be IT for her give more than lowbie monster. I can't tell if fighting high level monster change anything (IT++++ for her) |

I also noticed that She went from 31-32 faster than 30-31 Cus I was Duoing Mobs that were both of our Levels with my NIN.. Anyone else find that fighting with a job that's the NPC's same level yields more XP? |

i don't think so Nuku I just take mine to places where mobs are IT to him so he can get like max xp per kill.... on average 2 xp sessions = 1 lvl i think.. so far anyways |

I've heard people just standing around with their NPC in healer mode and it Ding while casting spells without killing anything. You can't tell me thats Lag. |

Never happened to me, it's 41 now. Always 5-15sec after kills. |
