There was an update to the expansion site but I figure this is the most interesting thing there:

Quote:
"Assault" means to make a sudden attack on a fortified area. Your goal in Assault is to fight through an enemy stronghold with a small, elite unit of mercenaries.
In order to participate, you must first go to the Commissions Agency, where you can view a list of available tasks. Choose any task that interests you, and gather the number of people necessary to finish the operation. Then, enter the enemy's stronghold and complete your tasks.
If you manage to complete the Assault and make it back alive, the Empire of Aht Urhgan will reward you with fame and an appropriate reward.
Assault can only be undertaken by small, select groups. In exchange, the Imperial Army will evacuate any non-participants so that you can fully concentrate on the operation. On the other hand, no one will be around to help if you find yourself in trouble, so you must always be on guard.

Well this is pretty typical of Square.


Introduce a pretty cool event and build up the hype. Then on patch day let everyone know that you can only enter on every other Wednesday. The number of players must be a multiple of 7. No more than 4 elvaan females are alowed in unless you have more than 3 galka. If you have 7 Male taru then you may have 3 male humes. Oh and its level capped at 50 and it costs 1 mil to enter for each player and you get 30 seconds to kill a fafnir level wyrm with first level relic weapons only.

The reward is cool. The fafnir type mob will occationally drop coins that can be used to upgrade new Armor that drops in the zone. However drops are limited to 2-3 coins per session and it takes 1,000+ coins to upgrade the armor that is no better than most abj.

How come somebody on every forum always has to post the update news? Ya'know, not like SE doesn't spam it everywhere to the point that it's impossible to ignore.. but then you've got that one person from each linkshell who feels the need to put it in their forums.

Well some people are lazy or don't have time to check elsewhere when they can just catch it on their LS site while checking other news. And people post it to inform others. Don't cry about what people are posting, especially if it is helpful and not ruining you forum browsing experience :roll:
