There's not too much talk about the economy in FFXI lately. I'm just curious if it's stabalized, or if everything is still inflated to high heaven. Also, is Ridere still around in the game, or did people finally stop using my old account? My roommate and I are a bit bored and may start up FFXI again if the economy isn't blown to shit still. |

How about a price comparison. What are things like Shining Cloth, Venomous Claw and such selling for now on the server? I understand that a lot of the decent gear for lower levels (Like hairpin and lizzy boots) were changed to RareEx, so hopefully that stuff shouldn't be too bad. I just don't want to bother buying a new account and crap only to realize the economy is not suited for new characters. heh |

v claw and d ingot are around 3-4M now I think. leaping boots and emp hairpin are around 1M, and I don't think they're camped too much now that its rare/ex drops. Prices are dropping slowly on high end stuff, so its affordable now. |

Would you try to get your old character back or are you thinking about starting over with your friend? |

Well... If it was something that I ended up doing, and that's a big if, since I still want to talk to my g/f and roommate about it first, then I think it'd be neat to get my old account back. But I wouldn't bank on it, since it's been over a year since I played, and I'd understand if she didn't want to give the account back. haha The thing is that if my g/f and roommate decide to play, then it'd be easier to find parties and be a bit easier to get back into the swing of exp parties. |

If your bored some advice, don't start this game over, try a different one. lol took me 3 jobs to 75 and like almost 3 years of playing to stop fooling myself into thinking the game wasn't complete trash and quit lol |

Yeah, i agree with madisonlee. Not to sound repetitive, but you and your buddies/g/f might even like Wow better because you can trio all the way to 60 together and never miss a beat Also WoW cuts out all the mindless farming/mining/teleporting that you would have to do to get by in FF. (you can raid low level dungeons for armor that you can later vendor for phat loots.) Which might be a big pusher if your spouse wants to get into an mmo with you without having to spend a lot of time doing the boring things that come with FFXI. But iunno, if you really want to get into FFXI by all means go for it, the economy is a lot better than what it used to be, and im sure the 3 of you could breeze through AF and missions if you all stick together. The funny thing is that we all do play WoW, but we've all grown a bit bored of it. I don't have the desire to do end-game in WoW, anyway. Maybe I just won't play any MMO. haha. |

Yeah a few people I used to play FFXI with that were playing WoW have come back to FFXI it seems. Last time I was in FFXI they were telling me that on the test servers Blizzard made World PVP even shittier for some reason. That and he said he was basically finished with WoW endgame. He was really saddened to hear that SE nerfed training and MPK though. Was not too happy to hear that gilsellers/RMT killed Kirin on this server either lol. Doesn't look like either MMO is worth playing much anymore and that the new ones on the horizon might hopefully be better. Well I don't play FFXI or WoW much at all and thats just my opinion. I only play MMOs for the friends I made in them really. The game itself gets kinda stale fast. |

You might like EQ2 if your computer is good enough to play it without the hella lag it can cause from the extreme detail of everything |

Warhammer Online looks interesting, too, I must admit. I signed up for the LotR beta and joined the newgroup thing for the warhammer beta, but I don't know how the'll turno ut. I tried RF online, but it was pretty lame (Thankfully it was only 20 bucks - part of the reason why I was willing to give it a try). I do like the idea of playing FFXI again, however, I know I don't want to be in another hardcore guild, and I don't know if I'd get burnt out with the exp grind again. I just kinda miss the atmosphere and community. FFXI had a lot more you could do as just idle fun, like helping noobs in the dunes and crap. With WoW you kinda just idle and get annoyed with zone chat, or gank. |

I still play RF Online here and there, but High lv > Low lv in pvp anyways, so it got kinda pointless. I would recommend Eve Online, but that's a pretty hard game to get into, learning curve doesn't help either. But i would gladly give you a 14day trial pass if you fancy. |

I'm actually signed up for the LotR online beta too. Pretty sure I'll give the game a shot, don't know if it will stick or not. Still playing WoW, but, have to admit my enthusiasm for it is a bit low following a recent guild implosion... typical guild took in too many people to raid kinda deal. Some of my friends started playing FFXI again. I was going to join them, but, my account is deleted and not recoverable and I just don't have the desire to start from scratch. That's more or less why I'm stopping by here... to see if any old friends from FFXI are still around. Anyhow, hi to everyone I know, once knew, or once kinda knew. |

(I'm secretly crossing my fngers too, though) Ive been reading the forums they have and I have kept up with all the current information. I think it looks like it has potential. I really liked wow. I liked all of it but the end game raiding crap. They should have just added tons and tons and tons of 5-10-20 man instances. That way people could do whatever they wanted with out having to plan out 5 hour raids 7 days a week. I hate that WoW is just a insane time sink. I mean these raids are not hard but still take forever. I jumped into a guild doing BWL and had not problem keeping up. LotR:online looks like it could be a nice mix of the wow style game with a more real feeling enviornment. |

Dunno, you should check out the http://www.ageofconan.com Really, if you look at what they're developing, it's really cool. Like, with PVP for instance, each time you kill someone, you get a "blood coin" from their body. It not only raises your notoriety, but the blood coins also allow you to purchase uber gear, and give you access to other zones. Kinda like WoW, only it's the entire world instead of being limited to certain areas. It's still really early, so it could be terrible or it could be really cool. But I'm still excited for that and LotR. |
