(Can I have it?)

Yup, I got new copies of the game for my roommate and myself, and we're going to need a world pass. Could someone pick one up, please?

patriarch is Diablo 2 title. lol

Good fucking god... Patriarch means he would be the father figure to all NA WHMs on Ifrit now. Ridere is oldschool like that... well that was what Whisp was saying I think. Who fucking cares how Diablo 2 used the word patriarch lol.

Did anyone start a pool on when Ridere quits? I say he gets to level 30ish and remembers why he hated FFXI and starts playing less and never makes it past level 39.

Not that I know of, other than the standing bet that my roommate and myself have. He used to play and got a new account yesterday, also. I know I'll at least make it to 30 to get the new advanced jobs and then hopefully longer to see the new zones and stuff.

I'm hoping to go the more social route this time, though, instead of the more hardcore route. Only time will tell.

BTW, starting off as a n00b black mage with no subjob or money is tough. haha

Welcome back to Ifrit Ridere. If I actually play FFXI in the next week or so I will say hello. Hmm well there are alot of people you used to know who are kinda rich, but not me lol. Seems I have less gil every time I login. Too lazy to change my PW and I don't really care to be honest. Would be cool if Kat gave you back your original character for sure.

Yah, hopefully. I'd like to use it to help out my other account. And I'd offer to help out their linkshell, too, or whatever, since losing a WHM could suck. Even if it's an auto-follow WHM. haha

I don't know what the status of all my +1 staves are, though. Those'd be painful to have to rebuy. =/

Another question for all of you current players, though. How do the new jobs stack up? Can you give me a brief rundown on what their roles are in partys? And what is this Manaburn/TP burn exp strategy I hear a lot of?

Spam parties is pretty much taking warriors, ninja, monks, etc somewhere and wtfpwning things in like 3 seconds. Manaburn is just all black mages using AM (I believe) to kill something in however long it takes to sleep and cast a spell.

Corsairs can do damage with their guns, but they mostly buff parties like bards do with damage on the side.

Blue mages do damage and can do skillchains with themselves and MB them also. They're versatile though and can fill different roles.

I don't know what a puppet master does, I haven't even seen one yet...

Don't quote me on these though.

The manaburn/tp burn stuff. The expansion zones have shitloads of monsters on really fast repop rates, and most of them are pretty weak, so the zones are commonly loaded to capacity with parties of war/war/nin/brd/rdm/whm or something like that, just spamming tp like crazy and getting ridiculous chains. The mountain zone has flan monsters and these roach guys called wamoura that the blms manaburn in solo, duo, or trio. These get pretty healthy chains also. New zones have an exp bonus connected to their version of signet(Sanction), and it stacks with the exp+ rings.

I haven't played the new jobs too much so here's my completely random rundown of them:
Corsair: has some crazy melee rolls like the thf roll (crit+) and war roll (double atk+) which I heard were pretty beastly from ls members but I've never played with a cor myself. lol

Blue mage: An actual viable melee mage I think the base sword skill@75 is 269, which is second only to Paladin's 276. They can solo light (with savage blade+cannonball) and open/close any light/darkness using their blue magic spells, and for those they don't need tp. That's pretty badass. Spams the fuck out of headbutt for stun. lol

Puppetmaster: God awful af. Shitty main combat skill, but the people who play pup see promise in the future. I don't know shit about it however.
