Post subject: | Shoot me now... |
...Cuz I'm ACTUALLY thinking of playing this game again. And even on the old Ifrit server... AGAIN. For like...what....4th? 5th time now? So before I go waste more money....someone please please please remind me why I shouldn't play this game anymore. I've played 4 characters now (at least 4 that I actually stuck with into the 40+ range) I've played on 3 servers. I've never gotten above lvl 68 for more than a week. (And those who knew me on those days when I returned to 68 learned new swear words.) I've been playing since the PC launch...I've currently paid for the PC game 3 times now...CoP Package Deal being the last one. I've also bought the PS2 version...twice. I've thrown an average of $15 US Dollars at SE per month over...how many years is that now? Not counting the 'quit months'...still alot....alot... I've made 13 Linkshells...been a member of possibly hundreds... Currently have been an active poster on at least 3 message boards. Have cause a room-mate bodily harm over a camping session. Have commissioned 2 "Artifact Armor" costumes, 1 child costume, and even made my own personal costume (No, I wont tell you what.) Based on this MMO. Turned down a 14$ an hour, sit on my ass job, because it was to be tech-support/Admin for an opposing MMO because it "didn't feel right". I've recieved 'innapropriate' photos of at least 3 other players of this MMO in my E-Mail. (No, I wont post them.) ...And for some, completely unknown, completely insane reason.... I'm thinking of playing. Again... Maybe its the fact I just got a job that requires me to be at home...on the computer...all day...and I'll have all the time in the world for a video game...hell, will even be making the money to pay for it while I play. SO. Please...shoot me. Or tell me very very very convincing reasons why not to play again. |

go hit level 75 to beat the game, then quit. its the only way to get rid of the ffxi bug. |

Cause I am still here, that should be enough reason to keep anyone from playing again. |

whisp is right. beating the missions helps too, but 75 is the basic win thing |

Do all the quests and missions and get every job to 75. Then see how much you want to play. |

I played PSO in high school alot. I've considered picking this up, but I really don't think I'm going to have time when I go abroad next semester (or would want to play an MMO, haha). |

well..what really worked for me is to live with a friend's parents for a few weeks, so i felt ashamed to be playing all day and quit. also i had school starting up, which took up almost all my time. |

Take a mental step backwards and look at yourself. My favorite reply so far, haha. But still...I can't shake the "ffxi bug" as you put it. Maybe I do need to hit 75, but considering how much time, money and effort I put into the original Viviti, and still not getting anything past high 60's after all that, it makes me wonder if I DID go for 75, how much more time/money/effort that would consume, especially starting over from scratch. I have all the "know-how" I guess...I know what it takes to level quickly, and that cuts off ALOT of time from the first time playing (Alot of trial and error...finding out who to party with, where to party, good equipment, etc etc etc) So I know it won't be AS bad as the first time, but still...Its like a race through 6ft deep mud....knowing that its 6ft deep mud dosnt make the race go any faster. I dunno, I just can't shake the urge to wanna waste time on it again. |

Go ahead and try it, since it has a trial, but I doubt you'll like it actauly ponuh 2 of my friends used to playand i messed around on the account a few times so i know what kind of game it is. only downer is that its slow paced. and takes forever to really get anything done. but the idea of being afk and making bank is enlightening. but i loved the graphics and the visualizations. and like kioto said, its free. so why not? |

and burn it. The HDD that I had FFXI actually failed to start up the other day, lol Past the point of no return irl If I ever get free time again I might pick up a small time MMO like PSU, but so long as I'm in the thick of college there's no chance irl |

Exactly. Too slow paced for your tastes in the long haul, probably. |
