i didnt see any topics on this. i am going to sell back Radiata Stories tomorrow. it was about a 8/10, very very easy but also nice visuals and relaxing. so i was looking at games and noticed the acclaim Resident Evil 4 has gotten. has anyone tried it and is it any good? i might get it..

From what I heard it's the same as the gamecube one (which was AWESOME), and that it just has a few new costumes and some extra guns and stuff. Either way still an awesome game. Took about 8 hours to get through the first time, then you can start a new game with all the old guns you had. Only took like 2-3 hrs the second time through.

Whispy, I picked this game up for the PS2 and it is funnnnnnnnnnnn! It's the best Resident Evil game i've ever played. It's definitely worth renting if not buying. I'm currently still in the castle, I made it out of the village. The over the shoulder camera allows you to always sees what's ahead of you, but still allows the game to scare you some as you can't see too far to the side/behind you.

Yeah, RE4 is absolutely great...though I was unable to finish it in eight hours, that's really fast. I was more like 15ish. Then again, I was essentially new to the genre. ^^

GC version is prettier, but whatever, who cares. If you haven't played this gem, pick it up.

I have played all the REs and all of them are overrated. I guess if you like a fixed camera in a 3d game that gives tons of shitty camera angles it is ok. I just call it lazy and shitty game design. Really they got stagnant a long time ago after RE2 to me. RE4 at least tried to do something different gameplay wise to seperate itself from the formulaic games before it.

The game was supposed to be survival horror and puzzle solving with the little action from the enemies so the fixed cameras made it a little scarier maybe. Imo they just sold out on RE4 to get a wider audience to make more money. Imo they should make the Outbreak games like RE4 was and keep the real ones the same.

I've played all of them. RE4 was the best. 2 was behind it. Outbreak sucks total ass.

And the old versions were not bad. They were survival/ammo management/puzzles.

I donno why but I like Outbreak lol. RE4 was only good because everyone says it was and because there weren't fixed camera angles (wow). That opened up new things you could do but meh. The only thing I like about it is mercenaries, that was fun in RE3.

I played all RE's, and I find RE4 to be the best one so far. RE2 comes at a close 2nd.

I only liked RE4 because it's extremely easy and not scary.

Outbreak is fun 'cause its scary and has other people to attack when you die. And RE2 is better than RE4 if you ask me, 'cause its got Leon too.

Seriously though, 8 hours the first time to get through? it took me around 24-25 hours. I like to make sure i get all the ammo/money, etc.

What did you do, just run past all the enemies and zoom past everything? I even wonder if it's possible to do it in 8 hours the first time, being new at the game, and not having anything but the guns you start with.

Anyways, this game is really, really fun. I beat it twice and I feel like playing it right now. The game gets sorta scary towards the end with regenerators, and the bosses are pretty unique. I definately recommend getting this game. Also, the gamecube one has better graphics and lighting, I'd get that one since it adds to the realism.

I didn't play too much of RE4 but from what i played its really good. as a begginer you will find it relly challenging to get used to the zombies that dash at you with chainsaws and 1 shot you or that zombies just never stop comming and you gotta learn to conserve your ammo. bottom line is you should buy this game.
