onlything special about it is it has a metal case with a dvd of interviews, an art gallery and a 30 minute video on the history of FF

EDIT: but the Special edition guide kicks ass

When I went to pick mine up today they had shitloads of the special edition so you should be fine. Then again you live in canade so all bets are off.

I watched the history of Final Fantasy on the Special Edition DVD before starting the game. It was entertaining and didn't drag on too long to lose my attention. Got me really psyched to play the game.

Maybe spoilers?































I played the game for 3 hours last night. I really enjoy it so far. The controls for movement and camera are similar to PS2 FFXI controls, and the fighting is similar as well. You even farm drops from enemies for gil instead of getting gil drops (so far anyways). I notice when Vaan casts cure it looks like a hume casting Utsusemi lol.

I believe I will enjoy the game all the way through. Unfortunatley I don't have the free time I used to :( I am going to take my time and won't grind through it. Talk to every NPC, explore every zone, and play casually. I probably won't beat it until Christmas or something.

I'm kinda disappointed with ranged attack so far, it seems kinda weak. I've had Fran using a spear instead and absolutely demolishing most things. lol

I set Basch up as a paladin with heavy armor and sword licenses leveled up. I control him but have to kinda improvise to make hate since curing doesn't seem to create any. It seems to me there's an enmity system based on pure damage, I could just be imagining it though.

You probably would know them... with a population of 20 and 4 cows... it seems very likely.

I have no idea who they were because they were friends with Sunshine, but ill ask her tomorrow and post. I ment to PM you to see if you knew them.

oh and Chatham is much nicer than I had though, but theres still a lot of Farms lol.

i dont think how much damage has much of a weight on who pulls aggro. I go into the fights w/ Vaan doing about 104 each hit, where as Basch hits for 140+ each time, and that guest guy (2h sword) does about 220 w/o getting aggro. Guns rock, i've noticed a lot of enemies using protect and can tell the melee damage difference, where as bullets ignore damage.

I am very pleased w/ how this game turned out. Just wish i had more gil to fully equip my entire party, this whole mix and match bullshit sucks

Meh, I bought gil~

lol, but it doesn't ever seem like I am short on gil or need it... I just sell everything I get. (ok, I keep 2 of evreything just in case I need it later... but I don't think I need to keep them... Haven't looked that stuff up yet.)
