Was wondering what everyone's outlook on this upcoming MMORPG was. From what ive heard the gameplay is amazing. The graphics look fucking beautiful in some screenshots, but others the graphics look like a low texture mess.

Not sure how it's going to be welcomed, considering the company's:
1. game release soon after BC comes out (not their fault, just not good luck)
2. weak marketing
3. obtuse gameplay factors (diplomacy, crafting) BUT--- these could be revolutionary, just... doesnt look like it.

If I pass on BC, which I most likely will, I'll get this game and see what's up. But I really don't have much hype for it, they're just not playing the pre-order out like they should be.

I got a beta invite about 2 months ago. Played it for about three days and it wasn't anything amazing. The whole world is very very muddy dull textures, the downtime is nearing the original EQ's(aka, a looong ass time), the spell grapics look like something EQ threw up.

So in summary...it blows imo.

Aalan is in the beta and the graphics are really nice (almost Oblivion detail levels on armor). Well he has the settings almost maxed. It has the best graphics engine of any MMO released thus far. It is however really fucking buggy. The way conversations with NPCs work is interesting as far as its like a card game in winning debates/arguments with the NPC. Crafting seems pretty interactive as well. The quest system and AH are very reminiscent of WoW. To me it looks like another EQ2/WoW copy with really good graphics. If they make the game stable and relatively bug free by release it might be more worth buying.

I've been in the beta even before this open beta stage (I was invited like 3 months ago). The game is shit, plain and simple. It's just SHIT.

He has his settings maxed and the game looks as good as this. It uses Unreal 2 and other licensed technologies for the engine. It has better graphics than WoW or FFXI. Everquest 2 has great graphics, but thats the only real competition to this graphically (bland art and character design imo). Vanguard has better graphics than Lineage II and that runs on the same Unreal engine technically. I do like Lineage II's artwork better though.

It is because the chicks are wearing the heavy armor in that screenshot lol. Heavy armor looks bulkier and it makes them look like they have no neck. That again is the artwork anyways. Graphics are polygon count, effects, etc.

Since when did graphics ever made up for awful gameplay? Not only that, the animations blow asshole too. So once you start running it looks terrible anyways.

The animations look fine to me and the gameplay is almost identical to WoW and every other MMO made except FFXI (omg you can jump). Doesn't seem like that bad a game to me. I haven't seen the emotes yet though, but the animation for running is smooth. Are you on something lol?

Have you played it, yarr? No, but play it and come back and tell me it isn't HORRIBLE. It emulates EQ (Brad McQuaid's company made it) and I loved EQ and it still is AWFUL
