My TV upscales everything to 1080p so it doesn't matter to me lol.

Awesome news! I love it when expensive DVD/Blu-Ray players do great things like this. I hear it can also play games!

I can't agree more. Upscaling from 720p to 1080p is all good...but upscaling 480i or below to 1080p looks like shit. PS1/PS2 games will both look much better displayed at their native resolution.

They will stop making fun of PS3 in Spring of 2008 when the 3 versions of FF13 come out and so does MGS4. I will be done playing Blue Dragon, Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey and Bioshock by then most likely.

Lair is a rail shooter like Panzer Dragoon, Starfox, etc. It doesn't impress me much if at all, the graphics are nice but its a rail shooter lol. Really nothing to look forward to as far as PS3 games go, I am not impressed with Heavenly Sword, Little Big Planet or anything else I have seen. White Knight Story looked cool, but no release date for that yet.

The upscaling gets rid of some jaggies, thats it. 360 upscales original Xbox games to 720p (well supported ones). MS won't support Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay emulation because they are coming out with a different edition with addons and improved graphics for 360. That sucks imo, good thing I have the PC version of that game.

I don't hate the PS3 I just don't need one. I'll buy one when FF13 comes out like Eternus said. Hell, I would have no use for my 360 right now if I didn't use the HD DVD add on. I'm thinking about cancelling my live membership because I don't use it. I don't even play the current games. Gears of War is the only game I liked. I've been playing Wii and DS only lately.

The games Et mentioned are the only 360 games I'm looking forward to.

The Upscaling actually both works well and looks pretty good.

(Using FFX and VII as test games)

Almost like adding Antialiasing to FFX which makes the game not nearly as horrible to play on a screen bigger than 15 inches. Final Fantasy VII also will no longer make you eyes bleed on a big screen. I'd take some screenshots if anyone really cared, but it does look really nice.

im actually impressed by the upscale version update. i was very skeptical that it would work well, but it has. God of War 2 has scaled very well as has FF12. Really i havent found a ps2 game that hasnt been at least 50% to 75% improved graphically by this patch.

you cant realisticly expect zomgzshitmypants upgrades from inferior games. 75% better from the best ps2 had to offer is still alot, if it was 100% better it would be = to ps3, which isnt possible. Until you witness the improvement yourself, its apparent no matter what anyone says will win most of you over. And really the advantage of the upscale is replay value of old titles. Why do people play the remakes of the 9 million FF games on DS and PsP, it isnt for the 1 dungeon and 3 bosses they add, its mainly cause it's a enjoyable graphic upgrade from the stoneage of gaming. Every tired, worn out, old, used to be hot woman enjoy's a makeover, think of it as that. Minus the boobjob.
