the two most interesting to me next gen mmos that have yet to be released-

I'm torn on wich i'll stick too. The trend for new mmos seems to be alot more pvp based, warhammer was made for pvp/rvr and aion apparantly uniquely combines pvp and pve, so pvp is a big focus in that game as well.

Graphicly Aion is simply stunning, and the customization in it looks like its going to be insane. Warhammer will have alot of customization as well but to my knowledge WAR isn't even going to use sliders, wich make me think its not going to be that customizable.

War looks like its going to be the most fun, american games usually are just more casual to play and generally easier, plus I really love the races and classes, and the fact that you can lvl up and gear completely through pvp makes me squeal like a little girl. Not that I am totally against pve/raiding, because assumingly you will do both in War to progress the furthest and fastest, but just the fact that they take pvp so seriously makes it seem like a perfect game for me.

I admit I really don't want to play another asian grind game and i've heard nothing but bad things about korean games, but Aion looks too good not to try haha, I'll be playing the spiritmaster in that game, the only pet class to my knowledge. (( also the only Order pet class in Warhammer, White lion is what i'll be trying )). Plus you get wings in Aion :D lol i'm being sucked in by the flashy gimmicks

Anyways so question is, whos gonna try either of these games? I know alot of you already said you were gonna play Warhammer, but any for Aion? Heres some vids-

Freaky dancing showing different outfits? o.O lol Both aion and Warhammer have dyeable armor (( finally -.- )) so you dont end up looking like a freaky ass rainbow colored peice of trash, like in WoW. Also I believe in Aion, lets say you get a peice of armor that has awsome stats but it looks like shit with your other stuff, you can take it to a dude who can transform it into another look but keeps the stats.- thats -customization.

I tried to find a good quality WAR video but all the ones on youtube are like cam videos :/ But the graphics of war look great to me, I don't know why some people are saying they look outdated. But I come from WoW so anything looks amazing to me lol. Anyways it would be fun to try these games with old freidns if anyone on here is gonna try them. Another thing I'm looking forward to with warhammer is that you can play on your own time and accomplish alot in a short time, unlike games like ffxi where it takes 6+ people to get anything done(( although ofcourse raiding in WAR will need that much people I'm sure )). Wich is good because I'm in university now so I won't have near as much time to sit around and wait for partys like I could with ffxi lol

I've been looking forward to Aion for some time now. They've said they're trying to make the game more
western-style, with less of the famous griding. I'm not all that convinced, but I'll surely give it a try.

WAR does look good aswell, and the focus on PvP suits me very well.

Playing AoC atm, and ehh... not really that awesome. It's full of annoying bugs, and many of the quests are just running back and forth for 15min with only the last part giving a little experience.

totally going with warhammer, after playing DAoC and how that pvp was just flawless, warhammer's rvr has to be godly.

Something about this game, tells me somethings wrong. Foremost everything looks fancy, but it doesn't look anything beyond what a ps2 can do. The wings look shitty lol. This game kinda looks a viable option for mmo's but maybe back in 2002.

Maybe i'm being harsh, but you should expect better. I do like the styling no doubt, and i finally understand madi's thing about wow's graphics. Although they can be nice looking, its almost like they like throwing alot of colors to make up for lack of detail. But aion looks like its a temp solution..

The real future for mmo's is games that are actually built to use and take advantage of dx10 graphics

lolol., the no npc thing might be interesting. Anyways I do understand what yarr said about it looking abit too stylish, but Mikey, I really don't know much about computers/games but won't MMOs always be a step behind console games because of the online factor? I was under the impression that trying to make an mmo with ps3 graphics would explode alot of comps with horrible fps and lag.
But then again I dont know how that shit works so *shrug*, oh also those quality videos are ofcourse bad compared to the real game, youtube sux :/

Anyways though according to all the websites i've read Aion's graphics will be the best in the MMO business when it is released. As for the games taking advantage of dx10, I'm not sure as I don't know much about this stuff but maybe because alot of people still use xp? *shrug* SE pulled that same type of thing by not upradind because of the ps2 limitations didn't they?

anyways please elaborate on that graphic issue if you can, im curious

edit: my friend said that SE's next gen mmo will be vista only so maybe we will see a burst of games with even better graphics in. .. . however long they plan to release that lol

Aion looks horrible.

The idea of flying in an mmo like that tickles my pickle, but I'm not sure how long that novelty would really last. Warhammer will probably suck me in with the guild system.

You could fly in City of Heroes lol. That game was pretty fucking lame too, superhero 3d diablo MMO.

Aion is being put out by NCSoft and they made Lineage II. So it has to suck goat balls.

Oh I agree, I don't think its ps3 or 360 quality but I do think you should be impressed, because its an MMO. If it was a 360/ps3 game then no it wouldn't be impressive. I dont even know how its gonna run smoothly when abunch of people are in a city or something, but then again I've already said I know almost nothing about how computers/games like this work- so maybe its not impressive *shrug* but its the best graphics of any mmo thats come out yet so I'm hyped about it
