Game is good when I can get on. I think I'll stick with FFXI though >.>

Anyway I've been playing it a lot recently ( still like EQ2 best) its a fun change of pace, since I stopped xping in EQ2, so I play it when not raiding.

I'm defintely finding that people are a lot more willing to group and such now that I'm 25+ I cam defintely see this game turning into a huge grind fest at high level a la ragnorak. Still its good to while away a few hours a day, and even if the quests suck there's still a lot more than RO =P

Is there really a 24 person raid cap in EQ2, vurin?

That's kind of an interesting twist.. It could make individuals step it up

Oh yeah. Defintely a 4 group limit on the majority of raid encoutners.

Additionally there are several mobs which are limited to 2 groups ( and dorp loot more or less just as good as anythign from x 4) and there's one mob for 3 groups.

That said most encounters don't require anything near a full raid force to defeat. In general 2/3-3/4 of the limit is usually more than sufficent to beat the encoutner assuming you know what you're doing.


At any rate it forces us to kepe the guild small and relatively closeknit to avoid having to force people to sit out. Also its not like FFXI once the fight starts you can't switch in and out of groups. If you go LD you're SoL. And even with that on the x2 mobs there's inevitably a few folks sitting out, and since they drop loot just as good as the larger raid encoutners there's really no reaosn not to drop them.

At any rate I enjoy raiding in EQ2. The majority of fights are straigthforward enough, but the few that have tricks to them remain interesting even after multiple victories. Which isnt to say there's any chance of defeat, but its not healers heal, dpses dps, repeated for 20 minutes like a few encounters are.

Edit: And actually there was two encoutners that were notorious for being AFK with auto attack on for 15+ minutes fights and both have been changed. one had the mbos hp cut by almost half and give a strong knockback + stun + signficant dmg aoe on a more or less random timer. And the other was removed entirely ... presumably because he was a complete and total farmfest and dropped some of the best loot in the game. he was literally one groupable if you didn't mind taking 45 minutes to do it.
