This game is gonna be awesome.

I see blm, rdm, whm, blu?, thf, war, knight? 23 jobs in all. Lots of potential combinations.




Some more info:

- The game is in full 3D.
- When you are in fields or towns the top screen will display the map.
- The map is not used when in dungeons.
- The main gameplay appears on the touch screen.
- You can use the stylus to select everything (menus, etc.).
- Commands in battle use the touch screen, too.
- Cutscenes and the camera will be used well because the game is in full 3D.
- The main party consists of three males and one female.
- Each character in your party will now have a name and attributes.
- The story will remain the same, but there will be new events, backstories, and sidequests to develop the game better.
- There are 23 different jobs and you can change them by getting Capacity Points. The system is now much more balanced.
- You can save anywhere in-game.

I'd rather not have to use the stylus too much but we'll see how the controls pan out. This game is the main reason I got a DS, looks like it's gonna live up to the hype.

i played and beat ff3 on nester with the english patch. i remember it being a very enjoyable game despite the shitty interface.

They were in FFIII originally, Kaylia, and acted as bodyguards for some wizard. They also appeared in the Moogle Forest in Final Fantasy V. You lose kthx.

FYI release date for this in Japan according to Nintendo Power is sometime this summer, but late summer/early fall is a better estimate. Should hit U.S. shores maybe by xmas but more realistically early next year.

Rumors say May, but seriously, Nintendo can't even make enough Lites to satisfy Japanese demand, I don't know how in the world they're going to be able to launch in NA with enough to not piss everybody off. I think maybe more like June or July.

That looked freakin great, it was an awesome game when it came out. Still think VI beat it though. Never got attached to characters like I got attached to the those. Locke's dead love, Terra's past, and the death of General Leo. Only thing that even came close to those moments in the series was Aeris dying in VII and that wasn't as good.

He is right about the moogles too. Gotta love the moogles.

I played every Final Fantasy game that was released in the US, and played the rom for FF2 before it came out here. I have the rom for FF3 on my comp but never started it. So this will be a new game to me. It looks great. I've always read this game was awesome...can't wait to play it. More reason to buy a DS now (already want one pretty bad).

there are so many cool games for the DS coming out soon. I'm more excited about this system than anything since maybe PS1. by the end of the year we'll see New Super Mario Bros, Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, new Zelda DS, and hopefully FFIII. not to mention that remakes of FFV and FFVI should be coming out on GBA sometime over the next year. DS is an old-school gamer's dream come true.

Has anyone been excited about the PSP like this? Or has there even been any games for it that might make it worth buying(Besides Megaman)?

You know, when all those FF's come out, that means with a single DS system, you can play all Final Fantasies 1-6 (Dawn of Souls, FFIII DS, and FFIV-VI Advance). FFVI is my second favorite game of all time, so I can't wait.
