yea i beat the game. 88 hrs into it. I liked it, I do wish the final fight was a bit more epic though. Also Penelo is probably the worst character there. I dislike her lol.

And balthier is awesome. He's just the man..

I am 70 hours in and at the last dungeon. My A team (Vaan, Balthier, and Fran) are 55, and my B team (Basch, Penelo, and Ashe) are 50. I haven't done many sidequests. I am going for the kill tonight! Can't wait to see the ending. The story towards the end has been great. I doubt I will play much after beating it. I've been playing FFXII exclusively and I want to play some of the other games recently released.

Balthier is my favorite character. Ashe annoys the shit out of me. That little orgasm moan she does all the time in cutscenes, makes me want to slap her. Penelo is annoying too.

My main party is Vaan, Basch and Ashe. That is due mainly to stats and how they end up at the end of the game. Katanas are fucking awesome, tempted to equip everyone with one. Basch seriously beats the fuck out of things with a hammer/axe and a shield though. Ashe of course plays the mage role with Vaan and Basch tanking/DDing. She is pretty mean with a katana as well since she is tied for the highest magic attack and that calculates into your damage with a katana.

I really like Katana also. I don't like Ninja swords much b/c the damage is weak. They are supposed to combo more than Katana, but I don't notice it. I think Katana fucking owns.

I've never tried a hammer, axe, measure, or hand bomb yet. Dunno why....

Measures and bombs suck(measures apply buffs when you strike with them but still deal damage so they're not practical for buffing your team, just fucking pointless) but axe/hammer are pretty sick, I had basch knocking the crap out of everything with them.

Just beat it Pretty gimp gear and spells lol. I didn't have most of the end game spells.

The ending was awesome. I am confused on some things from the earlier storyline. I would play through it again if it wasn't so long lol. Great game!

I beat it today myself around lvl 55 with 75 hours played.

I personally hated Katanas ( because their dmg is based off ATK and Magic power, but Masamune + Genji gloves is easily the most damaging weapon/accessory combo. that can be readily gotten.

Masamune hits at least 2-3 times every other swing, and its not rare to see see 6 hit chains. Plus its relatively easy to get as its a reward for beating gilgamesh, and not some esoteric bazaar item hunt thing.

Gilgamesh was pretty tough though I defitnely had to cheap out and switch 1 of my characters between the immune disable and immune sleep accessory based on what attack gilgamesh was readying > >

Is it just me, or does it seem like Ashe would be a better main character than Vaan? The storyline seems to revolve around her more. The only storyline part Vaan seemed to play, was wanting revenge on the empire for the death of his brother. I could be wrong...like I said I don't fully understand everything in the story. I wish I could breeze through the game a second time. I usually have to play FF games a couple times to fully understand them.

Ashe's revenge against the empire was a main highlight, but each of them had their reasons to go forward, except for penelo. I have no idea why she was in the game.
