It shouldn't Yarr. It's not that hard to get into and it's a lot of fun. Definitely one of Nintendo's games-for-all-ages like they've been going for.

Meanwhile I got a Pichu and a Pikachu, I don't know what the deal with Pichu is. In the old game, Pika evolved via Thunderstone. Does Pichu become Pikachu in the same manner or does he evolve via exp? Or does he not evolve at all? lol

If it's the way it's always been, they're the exact same game besides the fact that each version has certain exclusive monsters that can only be obtained in the other via trade.

Diamond has the better exclusives. But Pearl has the stronger Legendary, (the one on the cover). So you decide.

i got diamond... i'm sad that i cant get Lucario in this one... it looks so cool

pichu just evolves into pikachu by normal means... pika > raichu requires the thunderstone (which i found one on the ground in Sunyshore city)

i've been trying to track down my 3rd mirage pokemon right now before i went to the E4.. but he keeps moving (like the dogs in G/S). so i've given up and now i'm trying to get through victory road.

and i <3 my Luxray too

Infernape, Staraptor, Golduck, Gyarados, Luxray, Gravler is my team... reaaally want to get a Golem, but i cant get my WiFi working

Luxray is a friggin beast. Have you picked up a PalPad and all that? :/ Get your wifi working and we can both get Golem lol. My team is basically confined to 3-5 actual fighters and 1-3 HM users when I'm travelling. I quit bothering with trying to level the bird and just gave it fly/defog, I have a level 5 machop for rock smash, and a level 6 budew for cut. I haven't given flash to anything yet. My minimal fighting vanguard is Luxray35, Golduck33, and Torterra34.

Yeah this turtle is a serious piece of shit. Meanwhile my party levels have separated a bit so I'm gonna have to remake my party and level up the weaker members soon. I have 6 badges and I did the crap with Lake Valor and verity, I need to find the Strength hm so I can get to the northern lake.

blarg... finally got my national dex. Pal park opened up for me wooo!

I'm at the cave before the Elite 4 but I haven't played over the last two days. It's a good game but some things really make me angry about it. My major gripe while playing is that the selection and variety of monsters seems somewhat small in this game. I swear the only fire monster I've seen in the wild (possibly even among npc trainers) is Ponyta/Rapidash, and that sonofabitch has only learned 3 fire attacks by level 40+. Meanwhile there are about 200 water or water hybrid monsters, along with a wide selection of weirdo psychic hybrids. The bronzors are a particularly large pain in the ass. Turtwig blows hard, does Vine Whip exist in this game? lol his main Grass attack is still Razor Leaf near level 50.

Meanwhile certain elemental relations have changed since I last played a pokemon game, which throws me off, I don't even know what kills psychics now.

I'm near the end of the game and I only own 51 different monsters. :/

yeah... the variety seems a bit low to me too.. once you beat the the E4 you can go to the island next to it, which has a bit more to catch. plus once you beat the E4, you can get the national dex if you've seen all the 150 monsters for the first dex. after that i think new guys are unlocked to get. the fire guys i have right now are: charmander, vulpix, ponyta, typhlosion, magcargo, numel, camerupt, torkoal, chimchar and evolutions, and heatran (legendary). magcargo, numel, camerupt, torkoal are from stark mountain, heatran is too. couple others i got are from fire red, emerald, or sapphire.

I'll probably buy sapphire and/or ruby sometime soon depending on the prices to widen the variety at least a bit.

The thing about legendaries is that if you want to battle against anyone the first set up rules is usually "No legendaries or ubers" making them pretty useless for anything aside from the game itself.

And I have Diamond and got a Lucario. You just need to do a side quest and you get the egg. You might get a really shitty nature though.

I only have the Palkia in my party because I only had 5 levelled monsters, always kept the 6th spot for an hm user. I beat the elite 4 but wasted all my good meds and got owned by the champ, I can't even remember what is super against psychics so #4 kicks my ass. I'm about to get owned by the champ again, I don't have any level 60s yet.

Natures effect the stats of your Pokemon. One stat is boosted each level at the cost of another stat. So, you could have a Pokemon with a ton of physical based attacks with a boosted Special Attack stat at the cost of its Attack. Or whatever.

Legendaries are fun to collect, but there's no use for them outside of owning every single Pokemon because they're so cheap in battles.

I beat the champ, third try. First try I killed her first 2 monsters then got owned by that crazyass Lv66 earth dragon. Second time I survived til her last monster (Roserade) but I was completely out of meds and only had 3 monsters alive, my lower level crew (mid 40s) with half hp anyway. They each got one-shotted. Third time she kept switching them in and out, killed the dragon first, roserade last again and luckily scored a big enough killshot so she didn't get to use a full restore on it.

Meanwhile my Luxray has a "Careful" nature and has gigantic attack, that doesn't seem to make much sense lol. Atk: 171 Def: 119 SpAtk: 124 SpDef: 121 Spd: 127, Somewhat of a clown, native ability: Intimidate.

In order to get the national dex I need to see #65, 115, and 146-149. If I knew where to get a friggn Lucario I'd trade you one Elvren :(

Anyway, I made two more Lucario eggs just in case you guys wanted them. They aren't hatched yet, so, until they are, I can't let you know what nature they are. You'll have to evolve them yourself though.

You just have to be online at the same time and have eachother's friend code. But DL, theres a dude who gives you a Lucario egg on Iron Island. You just take the boat from the city that has the library in it. Hes the guy who joins your party and helps you defeat team galactic.

Yea. Only advantage to getting one from me is it'll level faster. Just remember! It evolves into Lucario via Happiness. Which means lots of vitamins, massages and have it wear a soothe bell.
