I have 1 more level to go on campaign...co-op is so fucking fun. The only complaint I have...if 1 person bails in the middle of a mission, it kicks everybody out.

Yeah mikey and I have been playing it and basically ripping on it for how bad it is. I mean it's OK--decent and it gets worse when you consider that it's not only a AAA title but a AAA title with an enormous budget. It just doesn't present a product that is good enough for all of the hype it receives and all of the praise it gets.

LOL yea the game hasn't changed much! And compared to gears of war the game is absolute shit. Its alright is instances where more people are playing it has the potenial to be fun. But the single player just like halo 2 is the games weakest point.

Thats not to say the game is bad, its just the second coming of jesus people act like it is. THe hype of this game isn't remotely deserved and the fanboyish i just don't get it haha.

i play halo 2 on thursdays at a friend's house. they had halo 3 there tonight. it was fun for the brief time i played it, but we all went back to halo 2 for the remaining 90% of the night lol..

in a month i can afford a next gen console. looking at either ps3 or xbox360 (wii no thx)

Sounds like you're bashing a game that's become a classic due to it's multiplayer because you didn't like the campaign. That's like me saying Metroid Prime Echoes or Half-Life 2 suck and are overrated because multiplayer sides were dull crap.

As far as online goes, Halo and COD4 are setting the new standard. That's why people like it.

Edit: And how far are you into the campaign? Do you know whats going on at all or you guys kinda just skipping through the cutscenes? You guys are saying such and such is bad and horrible but aren't really giving any non cookie cutter reasons as to why.

You guys may not like the storyline, but what did you expect to get changed in the campaign mode? The gameplay is amazing, and very polished. Why change something that is great the way it is? Also the Theatre and Forge are great additions to the package.

The multiplayer alone is enough to keep you busy for hundreds of hours with all of the different modes and ladders you can play. Add a single player campaign, which is 4 player co-op online, plus has a new metagame scoring feature, theater which let's you watch replays of your last 25 games, save them to your HD, watch them with friends over xbox live to see some amazing things that happened, save screenshots from them, and upload them to share with other players. Forge which let's you modify existing maps to your liking.

When i was online last night there was over 700,000 playing matchmaking. Enough said...

I started playing the pvp last night and it was fun. I annihilated a 12 pack of beer in about 5 hours while playing lol. Work sucks today.

I didn't play Halo 2 pvp so I really sucked at 3. I like that it will match you up with people your skill level though. Later on I played with some friends from my car club in a private custom map, and they are all Halo 2 junkies. I was getting owned left and right. Even by a girl.

Comparing it to gears is tough. Halo is such a different game. Gears definately has better graphics in HD, and it's main bad guy doesn't look like a bitch with testicles hanging from his face,

I'm an mpk'ing muthafucka in co-op haha. People jump into the fight and get all close to the mobs and I just shoot wildly in that direction as I run over there, or I throw grenades...whatever.

rented it tuesday (i got there right before closing and they still had a shelve full of copies..
I was surprised to find it in stock, but I guess most people who wanted it pre-ordered it.
I didn't get a chance to start playing until last night, I got like 10 mins into solo play and was pretty bored.
Graphically the game sucks, I'm not very much into FPS games, unless they're really intense graphically
like say GOW or Darkness or Bioshock. I'm gonna try to give it another shot here in a bit.. I'd prolly like it
more for it's multiplayer function... if I could figure out how to access it. Yay for no instruction manual.
So far I'm with Mikey though, I really don't see what the giant hype is/was about this game... guess it's
just a Halo thing.. like I'm sure some people wonder why I like(d) ffxi so much... and mostly it's because
it's a Final Fantasy thing. I dunno if I'm making any sense but that's my 2 cents

The graphics are like native 720P Halo 2. Nothing special. Bioshock and Gears fuck it up all over the place when it comes to graphics. Campaign sucks donkey balls solo.

I like it because of the multiplayer. We should do co-op sometime Jim. All you do is click campaign in the start menu and it will load you to a campaign screen where you can set difficulty and choose what chapter you want to play (if you've previously finished it). When you are in that screen, you can invite friends from xbox live. If they accept invite their name will pop on the screen under yours, and you can start chatting. Friends can also join you in capaign when you are in that screen.

I can't beat the last level on normal even. The flood are so fucking annoying.

Lots of the people online pvp are annoying. I got called an "n word" and told I suck the last time I played with random people lol. I like doing it on the same team as friends against other assholes. I have some people on my friends list who are insanely good at pvp.

halo 3 is pretty good. wouldve been nice if the campaign was a little longer.. but over all i liked it. multiplayer is awesome... though like what kluya said, its more fun to play with your friends on a team.

and if you havent heard.. the IWHBYD skull was found. was my last one i needed, so now i got the samurai armor set.
