I just retired my lvl 93 bowazon after about 2 months of playing. I had godly gear for every gear slot, including a 120/45 helm, a 20/18/10 anni, nice faith bow and fortitude armor, etc etc. All in all my gear was worth upwards of 75+ high runes (D2's current currency). I realized, however, that once you have the godliest gear, and don't have an interest in PvP, then endgame for D2 is basically just making trades.

I would've kept playing if there was any reason to, but I couldn't think of one so I quit. I'll probably play again in about 2 years, because it seems like I have re-played D2 every 2 years or so since it came out. It's a fun game, but endgame is very broken in D2. Nothing really to keep PvM players interested.

good point. In all honesty I'm satisfied with my gear...... just need some slightly better body/feet/belt armor if I can't get any better shit to drop soon. Keep getting god damn ethereal shit which I don't like cause of it's irrepairability. Also, snaggin a Bull Kathos ring would be hot. Plus I need to snag some gear from my friends account lol..... so maybe one of these days I'll log in to open bnet... but for now it's not a major concern.

They added some new PvM stuff. It's Über Tristram, and you fight like really strong Mephistos, Diablos, and Baals I think. I haven't been able to connect to Bnet after they added but I watched my friend do it once. You could try that if you wanted.



I believe if you put the ethereal items in the Horadric Cube with a Ral rune it replenishes the quality. Or you could get it socketed and put a Zod in it :P

me and Whisp tried to beat them, he had his lvl 90 pld and I had my lvl 92 amazon, and we both had nearly perfect equipment, and still stood zero chance against the uber bosses. apparently you have a have a very specific setup to beat them, and we didn't really want to enlist some bnet strangers. anyone who has played on bnet knows the typical player is usually a dumbass or a scammer/hacker.

it wasn't really fun getting to them either, more of a chore actually. you basically have to camp a certain boss to get a key drop, which has like a 1/30 chance of droping. it reminded me of trying to get a coffer key to drop, or one of those other tedious and repetitive quests in FFXI. D2 could have done so much more with endgame content, but I guess WoW is Blizzard's baby now.

Yeah, the keys dropping rate is retardedly low, and I believe they could've done something different for that. If you can get through it though, the torch that drops could possibly be worth it. Assuming you get the one for your class that is.

I'm not sure that if you guys get a few more levels if that'll make a difference, but I've seen a paladin solo it so maybe it could.

we both already had torches, and Whisp's pld was a hammerdin -- I believe smiters can possibly solo it. but the point is that if only smiters have a chance at tanking the ubers, it's retarded for people who don't pick that specific job. i think everyone should have a chance of beating them.

the value of the torches you get from the ubers has dropped so low that it's not worth it at all if your purpose is just getting loot. idk, like I said it's a good game but it could do so much more with endgame content.

Ah, ok. Yeah, I think it was a hammerdin that did it too. Oh well, I still want another bow zon or a hybrid.

bowazon is probably the funnest class I think. good all around mix of abilities, and cool gear to play with.

scyth: melee necromancer who wields a scythe and uses a crossbow to pull mobs
TS: dragoon barbarian, a barb who wields a spear and uses leap attack for the main attack
Mikey: sorceress, dagger wielding of course
Yarr: aura paladin, with regenerate life aura going contantly, glitched to make the character look tall and skinny
Whisp: aura paladin, with regenerate mana aura going constantly, glitched to make the character look small and fat

I saw the expansion for D2 for 4 bucks at Target a few months ago. Should have picked it up, because I have the code for the main game ( I think anyway ) just not for the expansion.

Rein tal and I have a copy. You could just use tal's copy if I can find em.
