Disgaea used to fetch over 100 bucks on eBay it's gone down in price a fair amount. Most quirky or niche Japanese RPGs end up becoming very rare and sought after by collectors. I'm a big fan of picking up certain games used, but you really need to know which games to buy at release and which games to hold off on. Or you end up paying out the ass if you choose to purchase them down the line. Gamestop.com has a useful feature that lets you find used games availability in proximity to where you live. I've found a number great, rare games that way, like the first Tactics Ogre for PSX.

All you have to do is search for the title you want such as Dawn of Sorrow (http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=180024) and type in your zip code and bam. Over five Gamestop/EB stores have at least one copy of the game near me, so you shouldn't have much trouble finding it used.

Same, I actually have Disgaea, but it just blew my mind. Mostly the whole, EB Buys it from you for 30, resells @ 70.

There's only a few games I need to complete my "collection." If anyone ever sees Suikoden 1, or 2, throw me a PM. :p

Game is going for 25ish bucks at the moment. Not bad at all. Case is going for like 20. It really kinda sucks that Konami put out Suikoden I & II together on PSP in Japan but didn't release it here.

lol @ $500 for PS3 core system. I'd much rather have the stuff I listed.

Yea, I added Children of Mana and Castlevania too. Completely forgot about those. I want Justice League Hereos and that Marvel game, but I think I'm going to wait til I decide on a next gen console.

Anyway, I think I'll get FFXII, FFIII, Castlevania, PSU, and Wii near christmas w/ zelda. Or maybe I won't get any games so that I can succeed in life. I wish I was like 12 again so I could just come home and do spelling words 3X each and then play videogames the rest of the day while eating swedish fish.

Any RPG I play, I compare it to FF11.
I want a game with a complex job system
i like the idea of a tank, balance of hate, and then damage and support characters
it's gotta have a battle system where battles take at least 2 minutes and all types of spells including buffs, enfeebles, and black magic are useful
also notorious monsters gotta be in there
skillchains, magic bursts, and weapon skill levels are a plus
seeing your armor on your character is a must
choices of weapons also a must

so are there any games out there like that?

I am kinda in the same boat. After finishing Zelda on Wii, nothing can hold my interest for more than like 20 minutes. I don't like very many types of games these days. I wish I could play a new RPG that would suck me in. If I didn't lend FF12 to my stepbrother I'd probably play that again...

i think alot of people were left with a hole in their heart when they quit ff and tried to enjoy regular games again, i couldnt do it. ffxi is simply the best game ive ever played for the reasons whisp mentioned and more. the only way i can enjoy other games is if i know i have ffxi to fall back on. right now im switching between SSB tigerwoods pga pro tour 06, and ffxi. soon enough ill add viva pinata to the list.. but i can honestly say, if i wasnt still playing ffxi, i would be miserable.

Viva Pinata is on my list of games I couldn't get sucked into recently I really tried to enjoy it, but I'm already to the point where I know I won't ever play it again.

I started DQ8 this morning, it's good so far. I have started but need to finish Suikoden 3/4, DMC3, Resident Evil 4, metroid prime 2, ratchet&Clank 2, FF Tactics, FF2/3/5, Maximo 2, Killzone, Yggdra Union, Phantasy star collection, and a handful of PS1 games.

This year all I want is FF6 advance (unnecessary but w/e), Pokemon pearl, and Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.
