Since the beginning I have always renamed every character I could, after rl friends or names I make up. Main character being "Tyler" my rl name.

Squall wasn't light-haired! Although, Siefer (spelling?) was... but he was more of the Prick-douche, not emo. :p

Cloud was just a dumbass with fucked up memories and poisoned blood, if you remember correctly you'll realise he ends up as a pretty jolly douche once he realizes he's not who he thought he was. Squall was a professional soldier so he didn't have any reason to chit chat. Zidane was a fucking pansy and a dumbass. Tidus was a happy-go-lucky sports star with a horrible squeaky voice. I don't see the whiny trend.

Cloud didn't get emo til Advent Children, and Squall got even cooler in Kingdom Hearts with the long Cecil hair and a whole bunch of extra belts, along with outfit references to Rinoa and Seifer. lol

As much as I personally loved 8, Squall was a kid, lol. Barely a teenager... In fact, in my version of the story, he barely passed his 'exams.'

I loved him though. Loved him good and strong.
Need to play KH though.... They changed his name... Why? Seemed stupid.

(Btw, yea hated Tidus. there's a line at the end, that me and a friend nearly choked on frmo laughing too hard... He puts his hands on his hips and cheerily says "I've got to go now!" or something like that... omg sooo horrible.)

yea I usually change the main char. name and sometimes the girl name to my g/f or something. I also change names around in sports games to some of my personal buddies (my good friend would be like the pitcher, I would play 1st base, the local bartender here woud be the catcher etc. etc.) so I always have a little fun changing up some names in games whether RPG or otherwise
