Nice, haha... I can't stand mobs with a whole buncha others.

Maybe I'm just slow in the brain and can't register everyone and move them about preperly, but it just confuses me. Not sure if I should leave them(excess mobs) be... take them out first, and if take them out, who I should have attack other mobs and then it all just gets to be a bigfuckfest cause I'm thinking on too many things and no clue what my characters are actually doing. >_<

On boss fights with minions I just kill the lesser monsters one by one and ignore the boss, or tank the boss myself and have the pt kill the others. Once you learn -ra black magic is becomes easier since those are aoe. Basically I just give in to the fact that I'm gonna stand around getting my ass kicked for a little bit and spam cure/cura on myself so the other members don't stop attacking to cure.

I can't get over the voice acting in this game. It's a fucking symphony in words. My ears dance to the song of this dialogue. lol

This is better than metal gear solid's voicing.

I love everyones voice except for balthier's. before playing the game i thought he was going to be my favorite character but when he spoke he sounded like freaking james bond. The dude looks like hes 20 and talks like hes 40. iunno but it just doesnt seem to fit. >.>

But Fran's voice is hawt. :-P

That's a fact.

Basch and Balthier are pretty cool, and Vossler too, but for me the High Judges steal the game. Their scenes are friggin excellent.

umm something i don't like too much. The battle system isn't too hot really.

It feels too much like ff online.. Its turned based yet free roaming. Why allow a free roaming ability but then restrict the player to a turn based system, but yet allow the player to move around freely within the field? Its a bit a annoying imo. I actually didn't like the demo much and this isn't too hot lol. I'm interested in the story and thats probably what is gonna draw me in, but unless the fighting system has a bit more elements than what i'm begining to see. I don't know..

Maybe i'll say something when i hit lvl 20 or something lol. I'll get back to this later.

This system is in place to keep from having random encounters which are 1: a bitch and 2: involve load time.

It's turn based and not live action (can't run around to dodge toe fire spell/arrow/ w/e) because it's an rpg. lol at least that's how I see it, I didn't even think about the action element.

Keep playing and you'll probably be happy with it, the boss fights are fucking intense.

You gotta realize that James Bond talked the same when he was 20. >:O

Agreed, I wiggle every time Fran appears and sigh in delight when she speaks. <3 Fran so much.

I never really understood real time, vs turn based... Considering I feel every previous game, including FFXI is turn based.

I mean, I know the bars have to fill up before they can attack, but isn't that how every FF game has been? (Keep in mind, I haven't played X, but I've seen it played and it looked turn based...)

To me, it doesn't stray from any other previous games, and actually feels more like VIII, where if you hesitate, the mob will continue attacking....

The only difference is that this one has a fuckload more to it, and is a helluva lot harder.

Mikey, do you have Wait turned on or off? (In your config menu)

That may be a part why some of the battles feel overwhelming to me, I started with it off.

At first i thought the battle system was really boring, but after getting a couple hours into the story and fighting mobs that are actually a challenge, things get waaaaaay better.

Also, turn 'wait' mode off, it totally kills the whole challenge of the game when everything stops so you can choose your next ability. but thats just my opinion anyway...

i wish i didnt get the guide, cause i find myself pausing every 3 minutes to make sure im doing everything right, i mean yeah the guide helps and if it werent for the guide i would have opened that treasure in front of the old mans place ("DON T TOUCH THAT TTREASURE PART 1") so im looking forward to this ultimate weapon later in the game, but they did an excelent job at this guide, i mean step by step instructions,

spoiler kinda i guess

for anyone who has got to the part in the castle where you have to call to the guards to the right of the room so you can get to the signet...

now if you have the guide and you read that section, didnt it sound confusing as hell? but when you actualy just looked at the map and did it, it was like "omg, that was pathetic" lol i sat there for like 5 minutes reading that thing over and over untill i finaly just said screw it and did it myself in a matter of seconds.

So i'm like 12 hours in now, I'd say I'm addicted to it now...although there are a few things I really hate about the game.

I still feel like I just started the game, all the fucking chests have like 12 gil in them, I'm using shitty swords, bows, etc. Feels like I'm stuck in the introduction of the game. I also really hate how weapon skills are done.

Does anyone know which weapons are good to use endgame, I've looked though all these guides and can't really get a good idea of what I should aim for. I want my final characters to use samurai sword, bow, and axe or katana, but I'm not sure if those are good choices...

The chests always have shit gil in them.

Weapon preference is up to you but just make sure everyone has at least some ranged skill for if/when you have to fight flying monsters. I personally have Basch mainly using hammer/axe, with fully licensed sword and a little archery. Ashe has full sword and many bows, and Fran has full bow, full spear, and full samurai sword.

You won't find samurai swords or ninja knives at shops for a long time though.

btw one nagging question of mine...

Should I be selling all the 'loot' I get my hands on to vendors? My game-bred senses are telling me that selling things like Libra Gems and 1000 needles for 150 Gil is bad, however, it seems to open up stuff in bazzars.

Compare the 150 gil for a libra gem to the 6 gil you find in a treasure chest. lol
Sell everything.
I heard you're supposed to keep nidhogg's Great Serpentskin though.

but don't sell 1,000 needles I haven't even seen that >.>

You get it from killing the third Mark, Flowering Cactoid or w/e, after you give its flower to the wife of the NPC that called in the kill. He'll ask you to bring the flower after you talk to him. Anyway the wife gives you the "1,000 needles." I already sold it, but the description is hilarious.
