games I'm playing over the next 6 months:

Zelda: TP
Castlevania: PoR
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
FFVI Advance
FF Tactics Advance
FFXII

I like to play games one at a time, so hopefully this will take me a while.

Id like to list all the games I need to play but I have way too many of them.

I have about 15 games stacked beside my TV. Im almost done Viva Pinata (need only a few more things to do before I have done every possible option) and then I plan on playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance with Reinheld on Xbox Live. I'll figure out what to play after I finish that.

lord of the rings online looks like it might fit some of those characteristics i was lookin for.. job system, group tactics similar to skillchains, a hate-based provoke type system, etc.

anyone played the beta? wasn't there a thread about it?

i just...dont think i have it in me to do another online game now

LOTR Online isn't even in the same ballpark as WoW, despite emulating it very heavily.

WoW is the new cookie cutter for every MMORPG, so get use to it. LOTR does a great job of taking what works in WoW, making it better and adding a few new things too. Monster Play is really awesome.

I enjoyed LOTR online more than I did wow, but thats my tastes. Still I liked FFXI better than both.

The game felt so rigid and the load times were positively atrocious. WoW is the best MMO ever made, bar none, though I still like FFXI just as much because of the aesthetic and the community.

If you haven't played WoW then you can't Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis how long it's going to last. It's blizzard, man.

I liked the graphics of WoW when I played the beta. If it was a 1-player game with no monthly fee I'd surely play it.

They have private servers and you can host your own WoW server.

yeah but the game is still geared towards massive multiplayer. I'm sure all the better game content is not solo-able.

Some of the best end game instances now are 5 and 10 man. You can hack the level of your character and the level of the monsters with a private server anyways. Whatever equipment you want you can get it.. you can use GM mode lol.

That is pretty damn cool! I would have loved doing that with my friends in FFXI.

I know so many damn people irl that play WoW it's disgusting. Even my 43 year old aunt plays with her 2 daughters (my cousins). I hung out with them last weekend, and they were talking about how excited they were for the expansion. It was so wierd having that conversation with them lol.

I'll have to take a look at this "Blue Dragon". I've never heard of it...but I like games that involve dragons

wow sucked balls imo. the graphics were shit (the character and gear designs are absolute crap, i've seen cooler looking outfits in my sister's old barbie fashion plates set) , it was boring (hey, lets do the same quest changing 1 little detail OVER AND OVER EVERYWHERE YOU GO) and far too easy (yo guys i just started playing this game, i have no idea what's going on but i'm already 1/2 way to 60). There's no sense of community at all.. mostly because everything is soloable and the pvp aspect of the game is like it's biggest draw. It's one redeeming quality is that the menus and controls are awesome but that again just leads into the easy factor of it. Overall I was highly unimpressed and didn't understand what all the fuss about the game was. Maybe it's because normal (non gamer type) people who don't have the time, energy, or intelligence to excel at a really challenging mmo can be uber just by playing 15mins a week for a month.

thats because WoW is hardly an mmorpg at all, if anything its more of an mmopvp. blizzard is good at making stragety/skill based games ill give them that.

Wow, you're in no position to talk about it. How about you use your leet-gamer skills to max out in WoW and THEN come back to tell us it's too shallow and easy.

It's from Mistwalker--which is a studio that consists of the key members of Square (including the creator of Final Fantasy Hironobu Sakaguchi) and with art direction from that Akira Toriyama (?) guy who did Chrono Trigger. A lot of the Chrono Trigger team is on this game, and the game looks a lot like it. Here's how the dragons play into it:

"The main character, a boy named Shu, has a shadow that can transform into a blue dragon. Using this power, he embarks on a quest with his friends, who possess different shadow creatures, to save the world."

The game's art style totally clicks with me. I want to play the game really bad lol. For me, this game sealed the deal for the 360. Go ahead and have FF13. I'll take the Mistwalker games any day of the week.

Oh yeah. Yes he's composing for Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey I think

I love how Mistwalker's other project, Lost Odyssey, looks so much different:
