Also, if anyone wants a quick money maker, run around areas with Balthier and Vaan and a gambit before their attack one that is:

Foe HP = 100% --> Steal

If you have multiple mobs, he'll switch mobs, but if you have party members, they'll deal damage right after that, making it so he won't repeat steal. He will however repeat if you're alone. :p

Anywho, I do that and lotsa loot. ;)

I made a steal@100% gambit for my fran/basch but yeah they go after mobs I'm not fighting and they repeat stealing even after getting an item ><! I wish gambits were more in-depth. I would make a stealfor a lower HP% window but most monsters die too fast. I just end up stealing manually. :/

I did make some to buff the pt and haste/regen Ashe, those work well. Unlike the endless stealing they just cast the buffs when they're needed.

Basch has Party leader->Protectga
Party Leader->Haste

Fran has Party leader->Shellga
Party leader->Regen

It's kinda funny, I never even took the time to cast buffs except for boss fights, but this is helping a ton. lol

Yea, I started using Buffs recently and it's pretty cool. I hated recasting Libra so now I have one for that. :p

Anywho, if you do Foe 100% they won't repeat steal (unless another character misses)... That way I don't have to manually do it(cause I'd forget or get lazy), but it's one helluva money maker.

Just tearing through Lhusu mines with one of my two party setups (Vaan, Ashe, and Penelo or Basch, Balthy, and Fran) makes a ton from Bone Fragments... those sell well.

Where as I just got out of O-Sandsea please, with a buncha pebbles that sell for 2 gil. >.>

did anyone else notice the sudden change in depth? like it seemed they played it REALL easy at the beginning of the game for those people who are rpg illiterate, or new to ff. then they just let you go on your own, and left you with infinate possibilities, and im like "whoa" i duno, i find it a little overwelming

Yeah the game is fucking huge. All it lacks is a card game and choco breeding.

sorry is i'm not in total agreement. The fighting system yes is getting better.
But who's the cancer patient who thought it was a good idea to bring chocobo rentals in 12? And to make it worst they put a timer. Fucking useless lol.

I'm getting more into the game. However i'm still having issues with this restricted free roaming thing, It almost doesn't feel like a final fantasy. It feels like i'm in the middle of star wars really.

I don't know what you mean. It's an rpg you can never just avoid stuff during fights. Only way to do that is to stay out of the sphere of range like avoiding a meteor or firaga in ff11, or staying backrow like in old FFs.

I'll say it again lol.

First the games design doesn't feel completely like final fantasy. Whats with the pig pork guys? And the lizard men with funny accents? Its like were in the middle of fucking star wars.

The fighting system feels too much like ff online. But then in other ways it doesn't.. I'd actually rather have the random battle or what ff10 had ( you'd see the enemy but it would load ( 2secs no more) and you'd fight a turned based battle. The things i hated about 11 moved over to 12 and thats starting to scare me lol.

I'm trying to get used to it though. I'll need a bit more. The story is getting intreresting

You couldn't see monsters in 10 <.< but yeah 10's battle system was nice.

and yeah the opening movie reminded me of star wars episode 1.

It didn't? I remember it did i don't know maybe i'm mixing up other games haha.

I'm questioning the art direction of the game haha.

most of the characters in FFXII come from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, like the pigs and the lizard guys. Also, Rabenastre is from FFTA as well. The naming scheme for some of the armor is from FFT, like the survival vest and such.

Real talk. FFT was my favorite FF game of all time. sucks that it never got a true sequel but just a prequel/spinoff of 12.

Game over. 82 hours.

I still wonder why they made Vaan the "main" character. Basch would have been much more fitting and appealing(hot beard), and a change of pace from the usual young hero. His story was central and probably the most pivotal of any of the characters to the main line, and he is the only character you know from the very start. He was definitely my favorite character from the main crew and might be my favorite character in any game. His character goes through the most shit in the story from false imprisonment in a dungeon for 2 years, to long-time comrades turning traitor, to other crap I won't spoil, etc. Basch rocks, he's a fallen knight who ascends through fire and ice to rise again and claim the burdens left by those who fell under their weight along the way.

Anyway,
the last proper dungeon took 5 hours to travel through, that's pretty impressive. The dungeon where the last boss stays isn't really a dungeon, once you go there you can't leave and there are no save points, just a quick and dangerous run to the final battles. The final boss has really cool special attacks. The final form was a straight up free-for-all fight to the effing death. One person dies and I raise them, then the raiser dies and the third raises him only to die in turn. It's pretty hardcore.

I'm gonna go back and do all the side stuff, and considering how much I skipped over (hunts, nms, leveling Vaan/Balth/Penelo, etc) it should take a while.

The credits sequence is really nice, and for the first time in my memory you can actually leave the "The End" screen by hitting a button and returning to title screen, rather than the usual really depressing "turn off the system and go outside" thing they usually do with the ending screen.

So let me sum up and reiterate:

The story of Basch, the story of his brother, and the way they shape together with the main story are above and beyond the game. Basch is FFXII's Kain. Long live motherfuckin Basch.

Dead, I hate you. >_< I'm about 20hours in (probably, more, I've hit reset a few times to try and get the right item out of a Chest) and at Sandsea...

Stupid game, it's now feeling like XI did a long time ago where I would just be at work all day and I cuold think of nothing BUT coming home to play.

Mind you, that's not exactly a bad thing, just tiring on the mind at work.

To mikey, yea, Chocobo rentals are stupid, lol. I dind't know they had a time limit, too... Stupid+1.

I just realized no card game which makes me a sad, sad girl. :( I liked just about every card game...

As fro the free roaming thing, I'll be different... I love it. When I finally got to Sandsea, kinda in the midddle of everything, I was like " WHOOO HOOO " and started running off for side stuff. :p

I never rode a chocobo in this game. Who gives a fuck about chocobo when your characters run so fast?

I got killed by that wall 3 times then realized I didn't have to fight it. Never bothered to go back and check if I can fight it again for kicks.
