Ketrebu just made me really excited for FFXII; that system sounds right up my alley. While I'm up at Penn State doing this research thing, I've decided to replay either Chrono Cross (one time played-though) or Final Fantasy Tactics (two times played-through). Any comments on that? I KNOW Tactics is a better game, fundamentally, but it's been a lot longer since Cross...

FFT is just so awesome. I have a file with 150+ hr's.
Everything but summon is maxed with Ramza.

Every other character is very close to being maxed.

lol i had a yuffie that could counter and multiple hits 9999 by herself... I intentionally did it to the crappiest character in the game too

my cloud beat jenova before i could choose the actions for the 2nd party member, he attacked for a bunch of 9999s, and then counter attacked or something for a bunch of 9999s. it was really sad.

Buff your characters this high in ff8 and the mobs would dish it right back at you, <3 Island Closest to Hell.

Yeah... that's what I liked about 7, you could obliterate the final bosses if you buff up hardcore. Whereas if you did no buffing whatsoever, the final bosses were insanely hard/annoying/retarded/pissed me off a lot. Jenova had Ultima, the 2nd boss constantly spammed 9999 cures on itself, and Sephiroth had like Meteor or something, I can't remember, but it took it like 5 mins to go off, and wouldn't even kill you. Seriously, if you're going to show a 5 minute cutscene of some meteor going through like 6-7 planets, and then blowing up the sun, you think it's going to kill you. No, it turns you into a fucking frog.



But do you have Cloud? He's a secret unlockable character.

Trace, I was unaware Jenova-Absolute has Ultima. If it did, then it probably only used it after a certain time elapsed, because I've never seen it.

Bizarro-Sephiroth cured his "core" for 9999, but it didn't matter if you took out his parts in the correct order.

Safer-Sephiroth summoned "Supernova", which automatically did 90% HP damage to all of your characters. It had no status effects added; you're probably thinking of his move "Pale Horse". Supernova was sort of nullified by the fact that you probably had at least 5 megaelixirs chilling in your inventory by the end of the game, but whatever.

No extra leveling up was needed in my save file to beat the game. = P

Yea, and worker 8, both in the upper 70's now.

Hell no, I loved FFXI's battle system. It was sometimes boring, but I liked how all the party roles fit in together...I don't think there was ever any need to have a 'tank' in the other ffs. I think playing all those roles at once in FFXII sounds awesome.

Oh and btw I just beat FF tactics (I think that was you who recommended it?). The game was awesome...although a little too easy. My Ramza as a MNK with two swords ability made all the last bosses a joke. First game I've played to the end in like 13 years though.

some jobs on ff tactics are really strong, like monk, summoner, ninja...

Meh, I never really experimented with killing different parts first. Nowadays you just throw a KoTR at him and he's done.

shit, calculator sucks on its own... incredibly slow and have to equip all +spd equip to get it to actually get a turn in a fight and not that good of magic. on the other hand SUBBING math skill is awesome, especially as a blm + magic up support skill.

my favorite class would have to be ninja though w/ equip armor. that or lancer for long range pwn'age when you get Javalin II

one thing i have never done w/ FFT, is use mime successfully. i have mastered all jobs on ramza and many close to it, just never really got the hang of mime
