Anyone looking into getting this game? Me and my roomie just beat F.E.A.R. in one sitting last night, and playing it only made us want to have GoW even more heh.

It's one of the best looking games (from graphics and gameplay standpoints) i've ever seen. If I had a 360 I'd be all over it like white in an Aryan Nations convention.

Commercial sucked. If they added sound effects along with the music, make the effects a lower volume obviously. Also the ending was...stupid. Would have been better with some more action shots and the character dieing in the field of battle.

I dont get what exactly? The fact that A) It wasnt a trailer to show gameplay since there was no gameply involed which means that it would need to be B) A storyish trailer, yet it didnt tell anything. Wow some huge bugs...and such. The song would fit the story a lot better the way I stated. The character just dieing in by the things at the end was stupid. The song was a good choice but this commercial didnt do it justice at all.

This game is getting 9 and 10s everywhere in reviews.

Thats very impressive considering how hyped the game has been. Games that get lots of hype normally get chopped down because of little minor bugs and problems.

Got a 9.6 at Gamespot. Honestly it's one of the most solid looking games ever. The gameplay videos just make me want to play the goddamn thing. Badly. I really wish I had a 360.

- Microsoft announced they would distribute on-demand movies and TV shows on Xbox Live beginning November 22, 2006. Players can purchase and download on-demand contents from Xbox Live Marketplace, the service will be available in US only, and eventually expand to other countries. There will be over 1000 shows available, 200 of them will be available in 720p HD resolution. Six content providers will be available at the beginning: CBS, Turner Broadcasting, Warner Bros., Paramount, MTV (Comedy Central, Cartoon Network, VH1, etc) and UFC.

- Microsoft revealed more details on the on-demand movies for Xbox Live:

* TV programs will be buy-to-own, remain on your Xbox 360 hard drive
* Movies will be remained in the hard drive up to 2 weeks. Once user begins watching the movie, it will be automatically be deleted after 24 hours. Users can view the movie as often as they like in the period
* Full-length HD movies will be around 5GB each. Movies can be played while downloading
* Microsoft does not have current plans to upgrade the existing 20GB hard drive. However in future there maybe external hard drives available.
* Price of the shows are not yet determined

You must be a Sony fan. Seriously the 360 has actual games out for it, while the PS3 has a really fucking weak launch lineup. So that makes the PS3 a cheap blu-ray player for a HD standard almost nobody has a TV for. No reason for blu-ray for HD unless you have a 1080p HDTV. The launch games are mostly crap and it will be horrendously low in supply as far as systems go. The game lineup for 360 actually looks good in the next couple of months, while Sony's good titles seem to be a year or so down the road. The added functionality of a HD movie box for on demand content is nice.

Here is the Sony crap

- Engadget has revealed some technical details on PlayStation 3.

* The PS3 BluRay drive is quieter than the DVD Drive on Xbox 360
* Standard PC USB keyboard and mouse works on PS3 via Plug n' Play, but Bluetooth keyboard and mouse do not work

* Sony does not have plans to have a VGA out option for PS3

Yay no bluetooth support for keyboards and mouses lol... it can do custom soundtracks like the last generation xbox omgz sony so innovative. You can install PS3 games to the HD like the xbox now too, you are basically forced to in order to shorten the PS3's insanely long load times... yeah Sony just copying MS in some ways. All they have is Blu-Ray (hoping everyone buys into 1080p) and FF13 and maybe whiteknight. After seeing Gears of War then the games coming out for PS3, I have to ask myself why the hell does PS3 cost 100 to 200 dollars more? Gears of War looks better than all of the PS3 launch games lol. Maybe Sony will make PS3 a on demand box like 360 too in a reaction.

360 also has achievements, which give games 10x the replay value and alot of people play games they never would, just to get them. its a great system.

I love this commercial. I just like the soft music being played during some neat action sequences. I don't think it needed anymore, or any less.

As for xbox360 vs ps3. I've tended to always follow the RPGs. I haven't been very good on buying RPGs lately, though, as MMOs basically feed that hunger for me.

I'll get a next-generation console eventually, though.

PS3 isn't being released until March in Europe. I'd like to know who is saying it'll do well in Europe despite being released AFTER Christmas.

1st off for consoles im a Nintendo fan because they actually make games that are.. and this will be shocking...games. Video games are about games, if you want a dvd player go buy one, if you want a PC, because that's what the Xbox has pretended to be all this time, then go get one and *shock* play better games on it (and most of the Xbox "exclusive" games). According to a lot im reading the PS3 is getting good reviews, as well as the 360 got before it's release. Now, your comparing a system that was just released yesterday to the Japan Market to a console that has been out. I havnt watched a Gears of War gameplay trailer because I thought the trailer that was showen in this thread was retarded in the way they tried to present it. Im sick of people comparing all these consoles and bitching to each other over which is the best. Get a goddamn life seriously. PS3 fucked up in their marketing badly, what are they at? Like 10 total units being shipped to North America now? lol. But seriously they are video game consoles, they arnt DVD players, they arnt CD-players. Im waiting for the day that games because unpopular again and media stops looking at them. Then we can get back to having fun games, and people that dont care about graphics.


As for the PS3 doing well, I can say it will do well in the Japanese market along with the Nintendo based on name and history. Japan is the marketplace still for Video games. They were the originals.
