I cant figure it out. I have a Linksys router (WRK54G). If i disable WEP it works fine. If I enable it I cant get it to work.

I should mention I hate Wireless Networking and I suck at it.

I think the biggest problem is perhaps setting the encyption too high. Otherwise you jsut type int he WEP key when settign up your DS and thats really all it takes

Im trying to get my DS online. I swear it connected once, but i cant get it to connect at all anymore.

I have a laptop also online and working wireles. I have taken off all WEP and protection off of my router.

My Wii just wont connect. I keep getting an error saying it couldnt connect to whatever it is that the nintendo service is.

I could never even get my wireless router to do wireless stuff due to some security code shit, so it just works like a normal router and I can't wi-fi-ify my DS. ):

Just got my room mates Wii working on my router. It was pretty easy. Just searched for access points, connected to my router's SSID (name of router), then I threw in the WEP key and it connected.

just buy the $30~US usb wireless connector for nintendo wi-fi

its way easier than messing with other wireless routers

is the key you use the long encrypted thing or the word you use to encrypt?

The long encrypted thing.

Or at least that's what I used, I wouldn't put in just the passphrase (the word) since I think routers generate different keys for the same word.

Yeah I tried both the first and second. I dont know whats going on but I dont think its my router. If I put the incorrect settings into the Wii i get an error saying I cant connect to the internet. If I put all the correct settings in I get an error saying I cant connect to the Wiiconnect24 or whatever its called.

Im gonna have to call nintendo on this one.

Its probably the router settings, but theres no way I could check everything you have it set to, haha

Yeah but even with factory default setting it doesnt work. Out of the box routers dont take and configuration for the wifi to work. Thats why so many people have wi-fi networks open for anyone to use.

All I know is that its frustrating.

try checking what key number are you using on router then take that long keyword and put it on Wii and see if that helps but I dont have Wii yet but when I get it I have linksys WRT54GL so I will let you know when I get the Wii and see if I can connet it.

I tried calling the help Hotline yesterday about my DS and it said there was a large amount of calls and not enough live representatives. I figure a lot of people don't know how to use a Wii.
