This is going to be a very solid game. The sound effects sound much more powerful, and the new characters are awesome. I call Wario!

Wario looks like the gayest character so far. Pit and Snake look really cool, but I'd prolly be Link all the time like I was on the last two.

Anyone wanna place bets theres a windwake Link hidden character?

I always played as Link or Samus in the N64 smash bros, they are ridiculously cool and because of that they are invincible.

I never understood why people liked super smash bros so much. People still play it at my school like 24/7. And I'm talking like groups of 7-10 people who gather around in our common rooms playing on a bigscreen t.v...

How exactly will you play this on the Wii?

You play it with the gamecube controllers. And it's pretty obvious why people play the game. It's just fucking fun to play with other people.

Me too :(

Super Smash bros games are so much fun.

Gamecube controllers = 'Meh' in my opinion. My hands are too big and i dont like the HUGE monstrosity of an A button that it has in the center. The classic controllers are probably compatible with the game then also, thank god.

I was just unsure because DBZ uses the wiimote.

GameCube controller looks like robot vomit but it always seemed to work surprisingly well for me.

Meta Knight looks like the newest "cheapest" character which will replace Kirby prolly, Snake looks a bit slow from the shots, and Link still looks like one of the most unstoppable characters in the game for a skilled player to use. Pikachu too. I used to always run into several cats that could play Link and just wipe the floor with anyone using him. Still looks like fun, and damn that graphic scene with the starfox ship was pretty damn incredible.

Gamecube controller is THE best controller ever made. Period.

Thats far from true.

I would really say the ps2 controller is the best out there. The controller is built for almost every type of game, including fighting games ( perfect for it)
The gamecube controller is terrible for them.

I prefer the gamecube controller over the others, but I'm not gonna say its the best. PS2 controller is straight forward, which I don't really like. I don't see the point for the Gamecube controller to have weird button shapes, but it works, so I'm not complaining.

P.S.

I pwn with Link.

Say what? lol.

I couldnt imagine playing Halo or any type of action/shooter on anything but the xbox 360 controller. Its like cuddling with a super pretty girl who smells good and falls asleep on your chest. It just feels so right.

The only time I played xbox I was fortunate enough to grab one of the version S (see: small) controllers. It had nice mass and sat well in muh hands but I'm 5'6 and I doubt I would want to bother with the full size one. The face buttons seemed too small as well.

PS2 or the PS1 dual shock analogue were great. Good weight, good size, simple straightforward button layout. Basically a pumped up version of the SNES controller with handles. The extended rear shoulder buttons were a nice touch too as it can make the controller rest on your middle fingers and also just makes those buttons easier to hit. The only problem is that the handles aren't very big or curvy so your hands can kinda get cramped on them if you play too long.

N64 controller was kinda oversized and weird but one thing I did love about it was the Z Trigger.

Gamecube controller as previously mentioned looks like robot vomit, BUT the way the buttons are laid out keep you from accidentally hitting any of them due to the space and I think the differences between the buttons make them extra useful and easy to adapt to with most games where each button set has its own uses. The C-stick is a great replacement for the C buttons. The handles have a deep curve in them that makes them sit in your hand like no other controller there is, which I really like. The only thing I don't like about the GC controller is the Z button, the placement and the different pressure requirement on the opposite ends of it (like a trigger) makes it uncomfortable to use. Start button sucks too along with the bull's-eye analogue stick which can fuck your hands up in a game like mario party which had the same problem on N64's bull's-eye analogue stick. The games where you had to spin it really fast (in which most people used the palm of their hand) ended in really horrendous blisters.

Luckily, I wouldn't be caught dead playing Halo

You're asking opinions but for me the PS2 was the best controller, there are way too many factors to even name why it's better than the others. Many people with larger hands unfortunately disliked the Gamecube controller and the 1st gen X-Box controller was god-awful until controller S came out. However if PS2 would have ergonomically designed 2 trigger buttons under L1 and R1 instead out of the R2 and L2 buttons like the X-Box has it would have easily beat the living shit out of an opinion poll.

I hate the PS2 controller. It always cramped my hands up. I like the GC controller and i think the N64 controller has always been underrated. Its probably one of (if not the) my favorite controllers.

Back on topic thought...

Im really looking forward to Smash Brothers. I was really happy to see Fox at the end of that video. I just have a few concerns.

Where the Hell is....

Yoshi?
Bowser?
Kong?
Luigi?
Samus in power suit?

There is no way this game will ship with out Yoshi being part of it. He's probably a hidden character. I just feel like as it is right now, its low on character options.

I did read that Nintendo setup a website (or a mail address) so that Japanese fans of Super Smash Brothers could send in the names of the top three non Nintendo characters they would like to see in Smash Brothers. Obviously Sonic was the most requested character. There was no promise on if they could get him into the game. Last I heard nintendo was trying to get a hold of Sonic's creator, but it didnt look too promising.

Still, it means that they are going to ad atleast one more surprise character.

They better have Yoshi. :(

Why did they throw Fox on at the end though, after what looked like what was supposed to be the end of the video? Just weird to me I guess.
