Simpy awesome and amazing game. My friend got a PS3 a day ago and got this game. It looks amazing. Huge battles in large open areas with no slow down. No "shiny" crap going on like in Xbox. Enemies dont take some special "strat" to kill. Robot type? Shoot the pipes and hardware on it to shut it down fast. Organic? Shoot the thing in the head, chest, stomach.

My cousin's wife has a little brother who got a PS3 and 5 games for Christmas. He had Resistance: Fall of Man, Madden, Tony Hawk, and some other 2 games I can't fucking remember. This kid already has a 360 and he was underwhelmed by the graphical difference between 360 and PS3. Looked like he wanted to cry when he saw that the PS3 Madden and Tony Hawk didn't look any better than his 360 versions.

Resistance was pretty fun and had good graphics, but it isn't anything that has not been done before on a PC and done better at that. Battlefield 2142 wins hands down versus Resistance as FPSes with large amounts of players go. I wouldn't care to compare it to Gears of War as one is a 3rd person tactical shooter and the other is a run and gun regular FPS. Fun game, just nothing earth shattering.

FF13 is the only reason to buy a PS3 as Konami has announced they are in talks with releasing MGS4 on 360 after the PS3 version is released. White Knight is cool looking in addition to FF13. After playing through FF12 I am very pessimistic about the direction of the FF franchise and SE in general.

No konami didn't say that. It was a rumor. Your mistaking sega with virtual figher 5. Konami answered those rumors and said that metal gear is a ps3 exclusive game. Considering the game was one of the first ps3 games annonced and showed off what the hardware can do. I'd hardly think sony would be stupid enough to allow that game to slip out of there hands. As far as its officially known mgs is not coming to 360. Its another story with the silent hill series

Except that Resistance's graphics are much better then most anything on 360 right now. Seriously.. shiny does not mean good. And of course a FPS on PC trumps any on console, that's because FPS belong on PC. As for GoW comparison to Resistance? No they shouldnt really be but they are.

Resistance only looks a little better then GoW ill admit. But then again Resistance is a launch title, GoW isnt.

I didn't see much that made me think the graphics were superior on PS3 other than the 1080p lol. That does make a difference but 360 has 1080p enable through the VGA adapter through a downloadable update, so future games could take advantage and be in 1080p. The "shiny" graphics in Xbox360 games is a reflection on the shiny properties that some metallic paintjobs and metal surfaces have. That is usually reserved for metal things like shoulderpads on the guys in GoW or Master Chief. Resistance just isn't that impressive graphically to me at all, not enough to warrant putting down 500-600 bucks on a PS3.

There are way too many rumors of MGS4 coming to 360 for me to ignore. Not that I really care for MGS anyways. They keep saying it will be released later on like the supposedly exclusive MGS2 and GTA games were. VF5 I already knew about, that is pretty good news as well I guess. I might still get a PS3, just not any time soon it looks like.

I know what you mean, for like a whole week it was discussed. But konami actually answered, and said they aren't making metal gear for 360. From a techincal standpoint it would be very hard to do. But not impossible.

PS3 is good for cheap Blu Ray and FF13/FF versus 13. FF13 doesn't look very interesting at all vs 13 looks pretty cool. I'm in no rush to get one till those come out. I haven't seen/played Resistance Fall of Man. I would like to see it...doubt I would buy it though.

MGS4 is the only thing I see for ps3 that interests me besides the eventual Ace Combat title. I was trying not to get into MGS4 (didn't look at any trailers or previews) but then I finally beat MGS3 and remembered how great that series is. I watched the 15 minute MGS4 trailer and now I really want to have it :/ but honestly I'm more interested in the story than the action at this point.

the only thing that disappoints me w/ resistance is most of the "levels" are very short. you go into a building, kill the stuff, turn a corner or push a lever and the level is over. it is great to have no slow down when you are in a fire fight of over 20+ chimera and 10+ marines w/ all the shading and hoopla going on. I cant wait to try the game out on a 1080p tv tonight (at my brothers place) because the game looks very good on a regular tube. i also want to do multiplayer because i hear that it is awesome w/ no lag due to the system itself.

You also have to remember that 360 has been out for a year now, ppl know how to work w/ the machine and code to get optimal performance, where as PS3 has been out for like a month and a half. With a little bit of time, companies will be able to utilize the machine to its full potential. Almost all of the release games for PS3 are all ports (nfl07, nba07, marvel) and will not look "better" on any system.

Games i am looking forward to seeing on PS3: MGS4, FF13, and Gran Turismo HD. hopefully by then more good games will be gettin produced

If MGS gets ported to anything I could see it going to Wii over 360. GoW though I can see being ported to PC at least. Maybe PS3 but that probably wouldnt happen.

wii wouldn't be able to handle what mgs4 remotely looks like lol. It would be cool if they made a wii specified game for it only. Built to taken advantage of the system. Maybe a redesign of snake eater on wii. I would fucking die if they did that. Like allow for the player to actually repair wounds ala trama center, and gesture specific cqc. You know how awesome that would be Holy shit that would be fucking incredible.

GoW is designed to be a console game, and would probably not work on PC very well. If it comes out on PC it will be much later, which will be after the next 2 Unreal games come out. There is no way it will come out on PS3, at least not until well after the Unreal games come out on PS3.

MGS4 of course as Mikey said couldn't run on Wii at all. They haven't come close to maxing 360 according to Cliff B. (developer of GoW and some of the past Unreal games). Supposedly it would be able to run on 360. Konami has done it before with other games, same with other supposedly "exclusive" games from other third party developers.

The prospect of releasing any big franchise on Wii (reworked) is now a lot more enticing because of brisk Wii sales, but even then it's not possible to port anything over to the wii without a major overhaul.

PS: Cliffy B is the biggest ranch corn chip faggot on the planet but somehow heads a company that makes some pretty amazing games.

I don't care about his personal tastes, when he has been involved with some great games. Thats what matters, and he should know whether the ceiling has been reached on Xbox360 or not. I have read similar things from other developers about the system not being fully utilized yet. Hell they didn't really even max out the original Xbox supposedly.

I agree, the guys a douche bag. Did anyone get the Limited Eddition of Gear of War with the behind E3 video? Well "Cliff B" is obviously the star of the video. Its a documentry of the work it took to make the E3 demo for Gears of War. Its done cronologically (s?). During the introductions "Cliffy B" introduces the viewers to his girlfriend. Shes cute, but guess what, shes fuc*king eight-teen lol. Hes in his early 30s or late 20s IIRC, but hes sitting there in the video gusshing about his girlfriend lol, about how awesome she is and how in love they are. I mean its pretty funny. Anyway, as the video progresses she breaks up with him and it made me almost fall over laughing. She dumped him while they were making a documentry (it wasnt on camera) so they had to explain it in the video too.

Anyway, cliff b is exactly what is wrong with the video game industry. Hes the kind of gamer I like to avoid.

Cliffy B is a designer for Epic Games, which makes the Unreal Engine that powers about half of the games. They're also responsible for Unreal Tournament, Gears of War, ect. I love how you cut my post in half despite it being right above your's. I'm not why you did that, but it's pretty obvious you're taking my post out of context.
