Yeah more super original character designs from SE. That chicks looks alot like Ashe lol. Great graphics though. Supposedly MS has offered to fund 70% of FF13 for SE to make it 360 exclusive. This is important because the funding would be towards what is the most expensive FF ever. So far SE has not bit on the offer. I think they know that would hurt Sony too much and we all know how much SE and Sony seem to love eachother. I might just have to pick up a PS3 in early 2008 (thats the earliest I see this hitting US shores).

yeah, mech-warrior is a good way of putting it. it doesnt really look like a final fantasy at all to me

Yeah it doesn't look like a Final Fantasy to me either. FF Versus 13 looks much more like a Final Fantasy (7 and above anyways). Watch the trailer. It even has a little prologue that seems final fantasy like (crystals and such).

If that's the main character I'm going to wet myself. He looks much more badass than the pansy main characters we've been seeing lately. He looks like a crossbreed of Cloud and Vincent...but I think it looks awesome. I do notice many of Square's characters look somewhat familiar with previous ones. It doesn't bother me as long as they drop that Vaan/Tidus look for the main character.

can someone explain to me the difference between FFXIII and FFXIII Versus. Are they related? and what kind of gameplay is Versus supposed to have?

I don't know much about it. All I heard is one will play like a turn based RPG and the other like Kingdom Hearts. I think Versus is supposed to play like Kingdom Hearts. I could be very wrong on all of this though lol. I haven't read up on either much. I don't want to get my hopes up for anything that far away. We probably won't see these games till Summer 2008 even lol.

vaan/titus and other previous main characters were all based on the japanese pop singer, Gackt. from the looks of it, id say "lightining" isnt

final fantasy never had a set standard as to what the game is supposed to be like. it is a fantasy, can be sci-fi (think 7 and or medievil (9 or early ones) as long as it has chocobos, cid, wedge, and biggs, ill be good to go.

yeah terk, i think the medieval type ones are my favorite because im just a big fan of castles, knights, kings, etc....one of the reasons i really like 9 and 12

FFXIII is the rpg that will be coming this year. FFXIII versus will be the action rpg that will come out a little while after the rpg comes out. Its within the same world but is focused more on being an action rpg in the veins of kingdom hearts rather than the traditional.
