Oblivion 10/10 - Put in about 80 hours, fun the whole way through, although I didn't feel compelled to finish every quest. I liked being able to pick and choose my path through the game.

PS2
Suikoden IV 7/10 - Never actually beat it, because I passed a point where I couldn't get all 108 character, and got depressed about finishing it. What I did play was pretty fun.
Dragon Quest VIII 4/10 - Liked the music a lot, the style of the game was pretty cool, but did not like the characters or the story. Too British.
24: The Game 9/10 - sheer awesomeness like any 24 product. Only complaint is maybe a little short. Just like any episode of 24, it left me wanting more lol.

GCN
Metroid Prime 9/10 - great game, almost up there with Super Metroid.
Metroid Prime II: Echoes 8.5/10 - great sequel. Only complaint was the limited ammo for the super weapons.
Zelda: TP 5/10 - Disappointing. I liked the dungeons but everything else in the game was just mediocre, no real "wow" moments. I dreaded being the wolf, always looked foward to getting back to Link.

DS
Castlevania: DoS 10/10 - Tied with SotN for best Castlevania ever.
Advance Wars: Dual Strike 10/10 - This is the best strategy game I've played in the last 5 years. Love the music.
New Super Mario Bros. 4/10 - I really missed the cape or the leaf. I wanted to fly. The worlds were uninspired, nothing like the great levels of SMB III or Super Mario World. An average side scroller.
FFIII 8/10 - Love the job system, and never got tired of battles. The story was a little simple, but I enjoyed it.

GBA
Castlevania: CotM 5.5/10 - pales in comparison to the better Castlevanias.
Fire Emblem 7.5/10 - Nice fantasy-inspired strategy game, got a little boring towards the end.
FFIV Advance 9/10 - Although the port had a few bugs, you can't mess up this game. Loved the new dungeon and the chance to use any character towards the end.
FFV Advance 8.5/10 - Great port, it's a classic, my only complaint is that by the time you get to the previously unreleased jobs, they are pretty useless. Should've gotten them earlier in the game.

in no particular order though I did look at TSs list for which of those I played =P

Oblivion 7/10 Sure it looked pretty, and was well crafted... I just couldn't get into the story or anything, and too many palette swaped dungeons and shit.

WoW 9/10 honestly I really only play for my friends and such, but there's something to be said about the nature of MMos and how there is always something to do. the fact that WoW's somethings are usually fun and enjoyable makes it a good game.

Guitar hero 2 - 8/10 Love the game but I suck at it too much to play it more. Tons of fun playing with my cousin and such.

Suikoden IV 6/10 really liked the game until it got bugged and wouldn't progress the story for me about 2/3 of the way through.

DQ 8 - 7/10 was decent one time through game. would never play it again.

Shadow hearts -From the new World - 7.5/10 Was good, but I dunno didn't tickle my fancy too much... I'm just jaded these days.

Final Fantasy 12 - 9/10 I really liked this one for whatever reason. polished, pretty, and engaging. Plus Balthier is so dreamy,

new Super Mario bros 8/10 would be 9/10 if I didn't beat it so quick. Truly fun classic platforming perfection.

FF3 - 8/10 Quite good, new graphics, passable stories... Mail system thing sucked donkey dick.

heh basically 7 = decent but probably struggled to finish it if i ever did.
8= good and lasting enjoyment
9= damn you WoW addiciton.

Zelda: Twilight Princess 10+/10 Amazing presentation and the most polished zelda experience ever.

Gears of War 9/10 Truly a joy to play co-op and, naturally, the best looking graphics to date.

Final Fantasy XII 7.5/10 The new gameplay ended up working quite solidly. The story and characters felt utterly shallow, however.

Psychonauts 8/10 If you haven't played this game please help yourself.

God of War 8/10 Stylish Action and a decent story

Shadow of the Colossus 9/10 Beautiful game, superb avant-garde presentation

mario kart ds: 8/10 same old mario kart fun lol. probably would've given it a 9 if i had a usb adapter thing so i could play online

new super mario bros: 7/10 it was an ok game, but like ts i missed the ability to fly, and the game seemed too short to me

final fantasy III: 9/10 i enjoyed this game a lot, i thought the graphics looked really nice and i was itching to play an rpg since i haven't played one in years

tetris ds: 5/10 my mom bought me this one out of the blue lol, eh. it's tetris, fun but i can play this on the computer. i guess the different game modes are kinda cool

twilight princess: 9/10 wow. this game looks REALLY nice for a gamecube game and it had pretty lengthy playtime (i think i beat it in 57 hours?). some gripes i had though were the lack of a fire tunic (i HATE the magic armor. never used that shit) and the mirror shield. i loved the mirror shield in OoT, kind of depressing just to upgrade your wooden shield to just a shield that won't burn lol. still only minor gripes, and stuff like the double clawshots really made up for it.

WoW: 10/10 i spent a year playing wow, didn't make it to the first expansion but i went as far as gluth in naxxramas. world of warcraft is a freakin great game, and it's especially great after playing ffxi. i agree the ffxi community was a lot better, mainly because in ffxi you NEEDED to have friends to accomplish anything. in WoW you can do a lot of things by yourself. but like i was saying, after playing ffxi and then playing WoW you really notice things that you wished they had in ffxi. i'm thinking about starting the game up again but eh not sure.

Why did you quit WoW J?

Raibow Six: Vegas 9/10 Great great great game if you feel like playing a tactical shooter. A lot of people get put off by this game because they think its harder than it really is. If 007 and Gears had a baby, this is it.

World of Warcraft 7/10 I dont know what it is about the game, but i just cant seem to get into it. I have a 38 BE rogue, 24 hunter, 24 paladin, 26 NE rogue, 19 tauren warrior, 14 NE warrior, 24 tauren shaman and im about to make a troll shaman. Seriously, i like the game a lot but i cant pick a character/class that i can stand to look at for hours on end. I really hope this troll i make will make me fall in love.

New super mario 8/10 I liked it, the level design for this game is one of my favorites of the series. But it was kind of short and missing some of the power ups we all love.

Kirby Squaek Squad 6/10 An ok game, but i bought this and mario at the same time, so didnt really give kirby a chance.

Gears of War 9/10 Amazing game on the first play through, but i like rainbow better.

I never played the campaign in rainbow but I played high density terrorist hunt split screen and online for hours and hours and hours. SO much fun.

same reason i quit ffxi, just got tired of it all. aq40, bwl, naxx repeat. but in ffxi it was more like sky, sky, sky repeat. the only reason i'm considering playing again is because the expansion looks pretty damn cool. if i do start again, i'm just gonna play casually

I've made a pact with my friends to quit at 70 actually. Maybe do the instances a few times but I'm not going to get into raiding.

FFIV Advance: 10/10 the very best.

Yggdra Union: 8/10 haven't finished but it's fucking fun. It's not as much of a strategy as Advance Wars, it's not as much of an rpg as Fire Emblem, but it's solid nonetheless.

Zelda TP (Cube): 7/10 It's good, but it seems to lack the depth of inventory you find in LttP and OoT. Dungeons were way too easy. Horseback fighting was awesome, the boss fights were great (easy but who cares), and the final boss battle is one of the best ever. Midna is one of my favorite video game characters.

FFIII DS: 8/10 still haven't finished lol, but there's something about this game that makes me love it no matter how many times it punches me in the face. Love the jobs just wish they leveled differently.

FFXII: 7-8/10 Without Basch this game is nothing. He alone makes it a 7.

Castlevania Portrait of Ruin: 8-9/10 another awesome handheld Metroidvania, I like playing as the chick and just using the dude when I needed to zerg stuff. I wish it had a more in-depth magic system though, like Aria of Sorrow's soul set. The dude's sub-weapons could be leveled up but I wasn't really into playing him.

I see other games on people's lists that came out more than a year ago by my reckoning! but w/e

Thunderstomp you should DEFINITELY give Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones a try, it wallops the first. Also you should pick up the GBA Advance wars because they're pretty super too :D

I am having trouble locating a copy of Castlevania: DoS, but I've played all the other hand-helds.

I will only include the games I beat in 2006. I played a lot of other games that I didn't finish. I rated the games I finished pretty high...because I usually won't finish a game if I dislike it.

Final Fantasy XI - 10/10
I don't need to explain the greatness of this game. The Aht Urghan expansion was a great addition to the game. The new areas and jobs made me feel like I started playing FFXI all over again. In 2006 I accomplished 2 major goals I had set for a long time. I got RDM to 75 and finished CoP missions. I did everything I wanted to do in the game and felt a sense of completion. I quit with ease. I'll give it a good rating because I haven't had more fun with any video game in my life..nor will I.

Dragon Quest VIII - 8/10
(I played this game from November 05 till February 06 or something lol, blame FFXI) DQ8 Has the feel of an old school RPG. The graphics are arguably the best I have seen for PS2. The gameplay is top notch. It's battle system is as good as "turn based" gets - though the battles are rather long. The battle system music is my favorite ever. It's quite challenging for an RPG if you don't exp often. The sidequests are a lot of fun. The Dragovian trials were my favorite part of the game. Jessica is a sexy toon.

I'll give it an 8/10 because the story is so-so and the voice acting is horrible. The game is pretty long and progresses very slow (gets boring). I agree this is a "one time through" game.

Kingdom Hearts 2 - 9/10
I fell in love with KH2 from the start. The opening movie with the song "Sanctuary (or Passion for jps)" is my favorite FMV of all time. I've watched it a hundred times and have both versions of the song on my IPOD <3 Hikaru Utada. KH2 is as fun as "hack and slash" gets. It doesn't require much skill. You can get away with button mashing throughout most of the game. The voice acting was very good, it really sounded like they used celebrities for many characters. The story was cheesy but I still liked it. The game progresses very fast. I liked all of the little Disney side stories and quests.

I'll give it a 9/10 because I HATED the stupid block/lego ship parts (whatever it was called). Other than that I loved the game.

Final Fantasy XII - 8/10
This game had the best voice acting I've ever heard in a console RPG. The FMV's and storyline were very fulfilling. The overall graphics are good but the resolution is crappy (for being such a late release PS2 game). It looks very compressed. The battle system reminded me of FFXI (expecially on "active") which I like. The gambit system was awesome once I figured it out. I like how the characters did what I wanted them to automatically. I still did manual stuff a lot. I didn't make gambits that beat the game for me, even though it's possible. I liked taking control for certain things (i.e. all buff/debuff/black magic spellcasting).

I'll give it a 8/10. The license board was a neat idea, but towards the end it's very easy to make all characters essentially "maxed out" in all categories. Summons are 100% worthless. Most of the hunts and sidequests bored the hell out of me. It also progressed very slow. Otherwise it was a great game.

Final Fantasy 3 - 10/10
A great classic RPG! I played the ROM for it ages ago, and didn't find it as enjoyable as the DS version. The graphics are the best I've seen on DS - comparible to PSX FFVII IMO. The opening FMV was a nice treat. It's a pretty unforgiving game. The lack of savepoints in dungeons and hard to get phoenix downs early in the game, make it pretty challenging compared to newer RPG's. It can be frustrating because death to a boss = re-doing the entire dungeon. The storyline is as good as it gets for a game of it's time. It has an awesome job system. I really didn't dislike anything about the game.

Zelda GC/Wii - 10/10
I beat both versions of Zelda TP. Between the 2 consoles I did all of the sidequests (there isn't many). I found the Wii version more enjoyable, because it makes fun use of the Wii controls. I had more fun playing TP than any other game (minus FFXI) in years. It's safe to say TP is my favorite Zelda ever...and I've beaten almost every Zelda title. The storyline was the best I've seen in a Zelda game. Midna is the best character I've ever seen in a Zelda game. It's graphics are beautiful and this is by far the best looking Link we have ever seen. I had more fun with the double hookshot and spinner than any special items in past Zelda games. The last floors of the "Cave of Ordeals" were the most exciting battles I've ever encountered in a Zelda game. Hell...the entire Cave of Ordeals was just awesome. I found the games puzzles very fun (even if they were easy). I loved most of the dungeons. I'll admit the game was overall very easy and the world felt very empty of people...but really those two things don't bother me. This game would get an 11/10 if possible.

Gladiator is pretty pimp. Finisher misses way too often tho.

But yeah it wouldve been nice to get the AP and XP bonus traits from Oracle and Cannoneer earlier on.
