Whoa...I saw this directly under that article on that site Quote: - UNCONFIRMED: The UK Official Xbox 360 magazine reported that Microsoft will release a limited Black Edition of Xbox 360 in Australia in March 2007. The console will come with a black 360 controller, 120GB hard drive and HDMI output. The retail price will be AU$749 (US$584 or 70792 yen).
I'd give a testicle for that. I seriously don't believe it. |

This is why SE licensed the UE3 engine. Cliff B. said in a recent interview that with the UE3 engine used in GoW they hadn't taken advantage of multicore programming (it was admittedly rushed). The Xbox360 has a 3 core processor and they only used 1 core in GoW lol. So this SE MMO might hopefully take advantage of the other 2 cores (Unreal Tournament won't be as rushed and will take advantage supposedly). SE probably will have learned lessons from FFXI and won't make a game that is broken at level 80 haha. Damn lol, 120 GB better give me a huge fucking discount to upgrade to that. HDMI is an overrated standard created by the TV industry to sell cables.. damn evil bastards could have just used VGA or Dual Layer DVI and gotten actually higher resolutions lol. Nah thats better than a PS3, Sony doesn't have the ability to stream movies with Media Center and you can't hook an iPod up to PS3 to play soundtracks. I have every movie that I torrented shared and streamed through my Xbox360 as a MC extender from my PC. Add in downloadable HD movies and yeah. PS3 is a piece of crap w/ a Blu-Ray player (which is going to be obsolete according to CES 2007). |

I didn't know it had that much more potential. I agree 360 has a crapload of cool features. I've spent more time playing with stuff in the dashboard and xbox live marketplace than actual gaming lol. I don't know much about the PS3. I'm buying one just because I will have the money for it now. As for HDMI...I've only used it for one thing so far. My DirecTV cable box. I didn't notice any PQ difference over component. It's hard to tell if the sound is better...I'm using the TV's speakers lol (no surround sound ftl). I will use HDMI for PS3 onry because that's it's only 1080P output. $9 HDMI cable from Amazon.com ftw! |

It is no upgrade over optical cables for sound at all. The 360 also can use USB 2.0 external storage devices. That makes the HD size a moot point outside of HD storage for actual MMO game data. I can easily move a movie or demo I download temporarily to my external USB HD for example. Or you can just put it on your Win XP PC lol. PS3 can't do any of that shit at the moment and I doubt it will ever be able to stream media from a Media Center PC, which makes it an automatic fail. HD-DVD and Blu-Ray are going to both lose since people can just d/l torrents and play the file on a Media Center enabled PC. Not to mention dual format discs and drives coming out lol (no porn on Blu-Ray ftl). Xbox360 will also have IPTV in a future update supposedly, which is pretty crazy. Windows Vista will be able to connect to XboxLive and compete against 360 users.. windows games will have achievement points lmao. PS3 can't do any of that shit and never will. All it has is MGS, FF, and a few other 3rd party exclusives to stand on, and those are not written in stone as exclusives either. The Japanese hate American companies usually and will support Sony until the bitter end out of pure ignorance. PS3 is going down in price in Japan and will do the same over here eventually. I would buy one when it goes down in price, since it almost has to. Exclusive titles are the only reason to buy a PS3 and those are becoming less of an issue with each passing month as more people move their shit onto 360. Gears of War was admittedly rushed by Cliff, Epic has a history of updating their products and I expect GoW to get something more in the way of a D/L before the sequel comes out. Programmers are just getting used to making games that take advantage of multi-core processors now. |

http://www.redkawa.com/mediacenters/ps3mediacenterx/ its only early alpha, and all you have to do is open the program on your computer and you can access it. "but you have to convert the .avi to .fmv" or whatever, if you wanted to watch downloaded material from your computer, watch it on your computer, burn it to a disc, or any other answer. and what games would you want to play w/ someone that is on the computer? sony has some issues to address, and ya, it is expensive to develop for ps3. ps3 needs some time, that is all. |

.fmv lol... you do know that MS can make it so windows won't allow PS3 to do jack shit to interact with a Windows PC? Why would you waste discs by burning them just to play on your PS3 when you can do it over your network wired or wirelessly without file conversion on a 360? Whats more do you know how long it takes to convert a 50+ GB HD movie file to another format? lolol... thats just a waste of time when I can watch it right as soon as a D/L the file on a 360. What games would you want to play with PC players on 360? Just about anything that is co-op. Actually as a PC player I would want to use my 3000dpi optical mouse to headshot Xbox360 controller using nubs in Unreal Tournament 3. PC players have a whole new base of players to mess with online, as do 360 players. I would play just about any game... hell you probably can do co-op Marvel Ultimate Alliance. I got a 360 for games that aren't coming to PC (Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Eternat Sonata, etc.). If a game is coming out on PC, 360 and PS3... I will get the PC version almost every time. If you don't get the PC version then there is something wrong with your head. By the PS3 has had the time to get better, Nintendo and MS will be running laps around Sony. |

Being able to show up console users in an FPS would make me want to buy vista and possibly use xbox live on windows. |

HDMI offers Dolby True HD audio, which 360 cannot output. I have yet to hear Dolby True HD, but I know hardcore HT people avoid using the 360 as an HD DVD player just for that reason - and go with an HD DVD Player that outputs HDMI (like Toshiba HDA2 or HDXA2 <-- which I want btw). I know PS3 is the first thing to output HDMI 1.3. Sadly there's like 1 TV that accepts that "deep color" or whatever it's called from 1.3 lol. It's supposedly gonna be pretty hawt in the near future. I would like to see the difference myself. HD movies via a DVD (either format) isn't going to die for a while. One of the formats will likely win when things get cheaper. Having a media center PC with downloaded movies is conveniant, but it's not going to take over DVD movie watching any time soon - just like computer gaming won't completely take over console gaming any time soon. The reality is....in our future IPODs will rule everything! They will store our 3200 X 2048 progressive scan movies, project them over an HD hollogram display, and give us a blowjob during the process! |

HD audio... don't make me laugh. Do you have any idea what a load of bullshit that is? The human ear can only hear so much as far as frequency goes lmao. Bass is felt and it is perfectly fine through optical (even that isn't needed). Current Dolby 5.1 to 7.1 setups are fine as it is and I doubt any person who has ever lived has ears that can tell the difference between that and HD audio. The only difference is the number of speakers and the surround sound settings. What a fucking joke. Of course you will have people who want to justify purchases on audio equipment and believe they have special ears that hear pitches only a dog can hear. Those types of people make me laugh really fucking hard at how stupid they are. More raping of the consumer.... that and DVD audio lol..... such a placebo effect. It is science that says those technologies are bunk as far as frequency and the human ear. Thats why the highest encoded MP3s aren't discrenable from CDs. Resolutions on sets that are under 70 inches are already to the point where the human eye can't tell the difference. Not to mention there has yet to be a movie shot at higher than 720p (that is the highest a movie studio's camera can shoot resolution at right now). The DVD format will die and everything will be over the internet, IPHDTV will rule all and everyone who isn't retarded will D/L their movies in HD (for free). You can't stop the motherfucking internet. |

That's why I didn't shell out money for a reciever and speakers. And I can't tell the difference in CDs and MP3s with my cars IPOD adaptor (that plugs direct into the stereo). I've had people argue with me that it's very different. I wouldn't notice it. I know the new Star Wars movies were shot with 1080p cameras...that's all I've heard for sure (yet the haven't been released on HD DVD/Blu Ray yet!!!). I think Crank was also..not sure. I still haven't tried downloading HD movies via the net. I haven't seen any good info on it yet. When I build a new PC I'm gonna hook it up to my TV and use it for media center stuff. My current one is old, shitty, and has no HD space. |

UT3 is looking much nicer than GoW. It's funny to think of GoW as a proof of concept piece but it could be viewed as that. |

I didn't eat all day yesterday, and went to sleep at 6 am. I then slept for 11 hours. About an hour after waking up today I ordered a large stromboli (somewhere between 3-5 pounds of bread, meat, and cheese) and proceeded to eat the entire thing. My nose is now running profusely. This isn't a riddle but simply a question, why the fuck is my nose running? |
