Bestbuy and gamestop.com were a little blank so I figured I'd ask here for basic X360 information.

1: How much is the cheapest set?
2: Does it actually give me everything I need?
3: How does the online gaming work?


Basically I'm shitting myself over Ace Combat 6, because AC is one of my most beloved series and a friend of mine wants to enter this online battle tournament with me, but I don't have a 360 lol.

As far as online gaming, I believe each new console comes with a certain amount of free online play, although I am not fully sure.

My friend mentioned to make sure to get the newer model with the blahblah hdmi because it has a much better heatsink.

I would weigh my options, If your worried about the 360's durability. Then the wii or the ps3 end up being better options. The ps3 has a less than 1 % error ratio which is actually pretty awesome theres tests that have been taken were the system has run under a sauna lol at 120 degrees lol. A 360 would totally break under those conditions. And Wii's well thats made by nintendo. Although built cheaply, the wii out of all is most likely easily the one you can throw down the stairs and expect to survive.

Besides durability lol, although the 360 has more games, and better ones at that. Its only a matter of time for sony to catch up. On that note. The ps3 40 gig model ( no backwards compatibility ) for 399$ is coming early november. As much as people want to argue about it, Final fantasy 13 is and still is an exclusive for ps3. And although Metal gear 4 is more debatable, its STILL exclusive for the ps3 for the foreseeable future.

As for the wii. Im still like i don't know what to say lol. Its incredible how the system still keeps going. But in reality It doesn't have very many games except for zelda and mario that make it worthwhile. The 3rd party games are just quick cash ins lol. SE is making some ff games that aren't ff games. And I don't know lol I own one..

Overall it would be cool for you to get a 360, would be fun for us to play some games together i guess.

The HDMI one is the elite. its 449, 100 more than the standard one. Biggest difference is it has 120 Gig HD. Otherwise the only difference is it's black!

The Pro is the $350 one yeah. It comes with Forza 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Even if you don't like them you can trade em in for AC anyway. The whole free games thing was just announced so you'll be getting the HDMI, better heatsink, and 65 nm chip.

The 360 works better than my other stuff with HDMI. It stays on top of the HDCP handshake and never flickers. I'm sure PS3 is the same way (I swear I'll get one some day).

120GB is just waaaay too much HD space haha. I laugh every time I save my game on Eternal Sonata when it shows how much HD space I have left. I'll never use that. 20 was fine for me.

I'd just stick with the Pro with HDMI. Elite isn't necessary. It looks cool as fuck though haha.

So anyone know how to share media from a PC? elite and my PC are on the same network, but elite wont connect to my PC when I try to share media.

Use Windows Media Player 10 or above and go into options. It will let you select your 360 in there somewhere. Too damn lazy to look it up. Try google.
