so currently i had an ATI 1600 Pro and a 1650 Pro in crossfire on my computer, they were cool for awhile

on the ffxi bench program they had scores of the following:

Low resolution: 8400points
High Resoution: 7200points

now i bought a 8800GT and i ran the bench program

High Resolution: 8246points

....yeah thats right....

if you dont use the ffxi bench try these bench numbers

3DMark03: 35,000

Im so bloody annoyed right now. Im ready to go out and buy a whole new computer (see IRL section for details), but I cant because the GeForce 8800 GT has yet to make its way to Canada.

Theres no reason for this, just sloppy shipping logistics. All the cards are still in transit accourding to Best Buy, Future Shop and TigerDirect.

How much did you pay for it?

Fedex would charge about USD$25 for a package (10lb) sent from FL to Kingston, Ontario in give-or-take 5 business days.

Im in Ontario so I have a Postal Code ;p not Zip Code. Im also worried about shipping over the boarder. I dont want to slammed with COD charges.

i paid $279 for this card. they range from 250 to 309 USD for performance that matches the GTX and ULTRA for 1/3 the price

Post subject:

Matches? i don't know about that...

Author:  Masterg [ Wed Nov 07, 2007 3:41 pm ]
Post subject:

yes, the benchmarks from my forum that i use show that the GT outperforms the GTX and GTS and are near par to the ULTRA

Post subject:

It doesnt out preform the GTX Ultra cards at all. They come very close to GTS 8800s, but the GTX have a good amount of speed on them. The problem is, its not enough speed to justify the extra 200-300 bucks.

It would never outperform a GTX, it comes close untill you slap on AA16xQ and Anisotrophic 16x and you'll notice difference.

All of those sites seem to prove what i said, GTX is better and you can see this specially on higher res & AA + Anis settings; also when DirectX is bumped to 10 (instead of 9) you can see i8ncrease in performance compared to the GT: http://www.guru3d.com/article/Videocards/468/10
Some of those sites don't even include GTX in testings.

which matches what i said, same performance but STILL 1/3 the price ;D

Post subject:

No it doesnt. I won't discuss this further with you because you don't seem to reading things correctly.

But i will say one thing, 8800GT will NEVER match the performance given by a 8800GTX.
