Post subject: | Sneak Peak at Squares new MMO! |
Quote: Rare screenshots from Square-Enix's highly anticipated next-generation MMORPG have been released exclusively on Allakhazam.com.
The screenshots, showing scenes from the upcoming game known only as Project Rapture, were leaked to the Final Fantasy XI Online staff by a source close to the game's development team. After much deliberation -- and anxiety and excitement -- the staff of Allakhazam decided to release the screenshots. Despite the low quality of the images, the screenshots speak for themselves. Details are scarce at this time, but Allakhazam.com has confirmed Project Rapture will implement Square Enix's Crystal Tools graphics engine. The game is planned to be released for the Xbox360, the Playstation 3 and for PCs using the Windows Vista operating system. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() to bad its fake. april 1st! |

this looks like a prank lol. Not for nothing look at the character models. Looks like a mesh between final fantasy online and ff 12. The biggest clue here is that its only for windows vista. Which is a foolish decision at best. |

The next gen mmorpg is being designed for vista only as I recall Mikey. I might be wrong though. |

If it is then, thats a serious mistake. Especially with vista being reliable as dick. |

Yeah it totally sucks, I was running vista on my quad core and it lagged!!! XP runs fine. Edit, found the failquote: Quote: Speaking with Impress Watch, Final Fantasy XI producer Hiromichi Tanaka revealed that Square Enix is working on a new MMORPG for the PS3 and Windows Vista. Tanaka made no mention of an Xbox 360 version, but did confirm the developers' hopes for a worldwide release.

Did you buy all new vista labeled stuff with the OS or did you download drivers and such for some of your pc devices? Because alot of times people have found issues with the vista drivers they download for some of their accessories. In fact one of the biggest issues that causes crashes on vista is apparently the nvidia drivers. I wanted to upgrade to vista but after hearing so many things about how horrible it is. I'd rather just stay with window xp pro. In fact my brothers laptop has vista, it has blue screened 5 times since we got it. And looking over it I cannot explain why it does that. It is completely new. I bet if I installed windows xp on it wouldn't do that all. |

I have newer hardware which i originally bought and used with windows xp, I then recently (November if i remember correctly) bought vista and installed it and downloaded all my current drivers. I'm also using the x64 version of vista and still haven't found any irresolvable issues. |

Its probably because you have newer hardware that you haven't encountered so many issues. |

if this next gen mmo is vista only its probably a far ways off, Warhammer online/Aion/Age of conan (( next gen mmos ))are all xp playable and not out yet either, but I think all 3 will make it out this year Anyways I don't see any issues with the screenshots, who says SE can't put Viera (( thats what they are called right? I never played 12, but the rabbit people )) in their new game? lol I Always would of liked Viera instead of Mithra in ff11 |

The thing about FFXI for me was PVP. I can't play an mmo now without good pvp, I can't believe I lasted as long as I did with ffxi, but I ended up quitting finally after day after day showing up for ballista and brenner and it being cancelled 100% of the time lol Thats why i'm hesistant to play another SE mmo, they just don't seem to make pvp any kind of a priority like alot of american games do. Crossing my fingers that warhammer will be as good as everyone says, but I will definitly try SE's new mmo when it finally comes out, maybe they will incorperate and balance it for more pvp, it seems to be the trend with upcoming MMOs |

The problem that will arise with Warhammer is that it'll be essentially equivalent only to the PvP side of WoW. Maybe there are strict PvPers but a lot of the point of PvP is to play the game normally and then utilize the rewards you get from the PvE side against other players. Pure PvP loses some of its meaning. |

yeah Warhammer's biggest problem will be the constant cries for nerfing and the constant cries about being nerft. Thats the way it was for DAoC and it wasnt quite as pvp centric as War should be. |

On the subject of pure pvp/ utilizing pve gear/items for pvp- I actually was really happy with the current state WoW was in when I left. They had PVP gear gained through PVP for PVPers, (( S1 S2 S3 and soon to be S4 arena, with the matching BG honor peices )), -- And normal tier 1-6 (( plus " 7" , the sunwell stuff )) for Pve-ers For those who aren't currently playing wow, PVP gear was best for pvp, and Pve gear for PVE, obviously, But the point is that if you had someone wearing top tier PVP gear, and someone wearing top tier PVE gear, and they were of equal skill, the person wearing PVE gear would be severely pwned. Likewise, top tier PVP gear would not get you very far into PVE. It was a good system, hardcore raiders should not be able to wtfpwn hardcore pvpers because the raiders have more time to raid 7 nights a week to get that gear. As long as Warhammer stays along those guidelines, i'll be happy with it. And I'm sure PVE-ers will find a place in warhammer, but its a PVP focused game so if you hate PVP, don't play the game because you really won't like it lol. I have really high hopes for the whole getting exp off pvp and gearing through PVP thing, it sounds like a dream to me and my fellow PVPers (( sorry for sort of highjacking the topic lol)) |

only downside to WoW's system now is thier weapons..alot of the top raiding guilds on my server.. their main dps/healer whatnot.. rocked a s3 weapon while raiding.. (most likely they bought rating points to get it, cause they did suck at pvp).. but thats my only real complaint. |
