This recent announcement on Warhammeralliance.com WAR Adds Punkbuster, Cuts Four Classes and Capitals -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes, you have read correctly. The big announcement for today was that WAR will employ Punkbuster as an anti-cheating tool. What's even more important to WAR fans, however, is that the Choppa, the Hammerer, The Black Guard, the Knight of the Blazing Sun will not make it into the game by release. Neither will Lothern, Karaz-a-Karak, Karak Eight Peaks and Malekith's Fist. Quote: There was something missing. It wasn't enough fun, it wasn't interesting enough, it wasn't alive enough. From there, the team was faced with a choice. They could either keep going down that path, working on all six cities and trying to get them finished before launch or make the hard decision to shelve four of the cities until post-launch and make sure that Altdorf and Inevitable were as full and rich as their design had intended. Mythic chose the latter. We decided to focus our energies on two capital cities one for Order and one for Destruction, and make them fabulous, said Jacobs. Not good, not great, but fabulous. We wanted to make our Capital Cities the best cities in any MMO. We think we're doing that, but it came at a price and that price is that the other cities aren't going in the game right now. Quote: "This isn't something that I can say that it is really a good thing for the player" he began. "We're cutting out some classes. I can say that we are doing this for quality, absolutely." "Four of the classes that we've been working on, we just couldnt get great," he continued. "We looked at them and we said these careers are just not great and we tried, and they weren't coming out well. This left them with a decision similar to the one that they were left with for the cities, do they continue and try to get it, or do they shelve them? In the end, after looking at the metric data that they have been collecting throughout the beta process, they saw that there were four careers that just weren't working for the players. "We tried," Jacobs said, "we tried to see if we could make them better and we just couldn't make them great. So we had a choice. Do we put in some non-great careers just because they are iconic, or we cut them out and put them in post-launch if we can get them right, or do we not put them in at all" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Good thing i'm a White Lion I guess, but I also wanted to play the black guard;; |

I have no problem with them holding content back so we get a faster release. So long as all the content that was suppose to be included with the launch is released for free through patches. |

yeah I agree actually, I was thinking " well, if they say they can't do it in time they obviously don't plan to delay it again" thank god lol, I'm really getting annoyed wanting this game so badly, and the other game I wanted to play was pushed back until 2009 most likely. |

if you think about it 6 major cities is a little excessive. Sometimes a world that is too big leaves people a little overwhelmed. Wow had 3 for a long time, 2 is just fine honestly. |

Yeah the cities I don't mind, but I'm sure the class cuts are gonna be a big dissapointment for people who wanted to play those classes; I would of gone hella emo if they cut white lion |

Wow had 3 for a long time, 2 is just fine honestly. Wasnt it three on horde and three in alliance? YES TECHNICALLY. BUT THATS ONLY IF YOU ARE BEING TECHNICAL. NOW ARE WE BEING TECHNICAL. OR MERELY VIEWING IT FROM ONE SIDE. |

I pre-ordered WAR sometime ago so i'm still waiting for CE beta invites, hopefully i won't be dissapointed with this game and i am keeping my hype for it VERY low so it doesn't shatter into a million pieces when it comes out. |

lol I just realized thats exactly why i WANT to play aion hahahahahaha I'm gay ;-; BUT; The gimmicks of aion's prettyfullness will most likely wear off in about a week of playing and then I'll get back to my pvp-whoring in warhammer; EDIT: And yeah Kioto I'm making that mistake >-< I'm putting all my hopes into WAR as the perfect game to my tastes (( the design and graphics are great, pvp/rvr focused, classes and races that i love )) man I hope that it doesnt end up sucking. . . |
