Man it looks like Prishe is at the Empyreal Paradox. Really hope she's playable and that the EP is her battleground with the music from promathia second form. |

Oh sorry I forgot to update this thread. SE released a demo for Dissidia 012 onto the japanese PSN store. You have to pay to download it, but those that do get an exclusive Aerith assist character. People downloaded and ripped the game apart, of course. Inside the dat files for the game are the following images: ![]() ![]() Futher hacking of the game gets you into the ability menus for each of them too. Prishe's are all named after Monk WS, such as One Inch Punch and Asuran Fists; Gilgamesh's EX-Burst is a toss-up between Excalibur and Excalipoor. Their data is definately in the menus, but not in the game (no 3D models etc). Which is kind of conclusive evidence. Nothing has been "confirmed" by SE themselves though. |

Gilgamesh. He's been drawn various ways in the past games, so he doesn't have as classic of a look as some of the other more iconic characters. |

His design is, like every other character in Dissidia, a Nomura redrawing of his original Amano design: ![]() ![]() He actually cameos in most games since FF5. But his most notable appearances are his star role in FF5 itself and as rare hunt in FF12. Gilgamesh is hinted to be the same Gilgamesh in each game he appears in, as a multi-dimensional traveller searching for legendary weapons or some such. |

There's another old swordsman in FF6, and I always wondered if it was a translation error, or something else, that made him not named Gilgamesh. He pops out in a few places throughout the story, as well as being able to fight him in the colloseum. |

That was Siegfreid or something. I don't think he was Gilgamesh, he was supposed to be some "rival" of Ultros, or something. But there was also an imposter running around too. I agree it wasn't translated very well. |

http://na.square-enix.com/dissidia_012/#/special Preorder from gamestop and you get a download code for the awesome Cloud Strife re-design from Kingdom Hearts. Preorder from Amazon and you get some slutty, slightly different TIfa costume. Cancelling my amazon preorder. I don't even play as Cloud that much but the KH costume is pretty great. The japanese version seems to have some way to get Squall's Kingdom Hearts look (!!!!!) but I don't know how and don't know if it'll be available in the NA version. ![]() and Prishe in action: |

http://www.siliconera.com/2011/02/16/se ... l-fantasy/ Long story short Squall's Kingdom Hearts design will be made available in Japan through a download code in a magazine and Europe via some sort of special edition (The Legacy Edition), with no way for US players to download it yet. Oh, to be skinny again.

A prologue/demo is supposed to be available as of today on the PS Network but I can't find it. Anybody have a clue? |

The US Playstation Store is supposedly notorious for updating quite late in the evening sometimes. Check if anything else on the store at the top of the "Latest" section says it was uploaded today. If there's nothing, they simply havent done their weekly update yet. EDIT: It's worth pointing out that the "demo" is not free. It's supposed to be a prequel/introduction chapter (a prologue) that is not in the full game, for like $3 or something. As an added bonus, finishing the prologus and then transferring the data to the full game next week unlocks Aerith as an assist character. |

Yeah there's aeris assist and apparently you can also carry over items and exp you gain on Lightning in the prologue. There's already so much DLC, I've never really been a fan of companies releasing incomplete games. You can get a Cecil costume for buying the "FF4 Complete Collection" for psp, which is the DS remake of FF4 along with the WiiWare FF4: After years and a new interlude. Tifa's costume from amazon.com, Cloud's from Gamestop, Aeris from the demo/prologue, and of course Squall's KH getup and a helmetless Warrior of Light. Little worried that they haven't released any way for NA players to obtain the Squall costume with only a week til release. They'll probably just pop it on the psn shop for a few bucks. That's really the only DLC I care about at this point, besides the actual prologue. |

Prologus is in the full-game download section of the store, oddly, was not listed in new releases section. |

Apparently Square today has decided to not release Prologus in the EU until next wednesday. That's right, one day after the full game comes out in the US! This is contrary to all of their announcements til now stating we'd get it today, total bull, they could at least give a reason. I'll have the whole game on Thursday, leaves me just one day to play Prologus. DL, that Squall costume is coming with the Legacy Edition here in the UK. But other than Aerith, the KH Squall, and Red Tifa (that both come with Legacy), we've had none of the DLC announcements. So as far as I know we're completely without any way at all to get KH Cloud, Aya Lightning, or Helmetless WoL. ![]() At least here in the EU they haven't gone with that gay "different bonus from each store" shit. What do they expect people to do, buy the damn game 3 times?! I really wanted to get the PSN store version of Dissidia this time since it's releasing day and date, because it means there's no UMD to worry about or have to put in, but you lose out on the Legacy Edition bonuses and it costs exactly the same amount of money. So eh, maybe I'll buy the PSN version sometime down the line if it gets cheaper. |

Chase battles are sooooo fast. Can't even see what's coming, safest bet is to cancel chase the first chance you get. Assists are cool and also serve the purpose of helping you escape from the middle of an enemy combo, like activating EX mode in the first game. Activating EX mode in the middle of being attacked in D012 does not enter you into ex mode, it consumes your full ex bar, extricates you from your enemy's clutches, and slows down time for a few seconds for you to freely beat upon them. Not much besides that is clearly different at this point, but I'm just playing arcade mode on the prologue. Kain is definitely as great as I'd hoped he'd be. He's got some moves that are based on distance. For example, sky rave is a downward HP attack where he pokes the enemy and drives them down into the ground. The higher a point you start the attack from, the more brave damage it'll do before the hp hit, meaning it can be pretty catastrophic if you launch an enemy up high then land the sky rave on them. |

Sadly the video's been taken down already, but somehow the EU version of the game it out in the wild so a lot of english cutscenes are various stuff are finally appearing on Youtube. There was a rip of a Prishe cutscene, and her name is pronounced to rhyme with Trish/Fish, and Shantotto is pronounced Shan-toe-toe. Let there be pronunciation ambiguousness no longer! Also glad to hear the Promathia final boss music in the game! |

While I don't care much about this game, I'm happy to announce that I have been pronouncing their names correctly for years apparently. So yay for me. ![]() |

Found the video again. Shantotto + Prishe: (The Shantotto VA is quite good, but Prishe sounds kind of "phoned in" -- literally, dunno why it sounds so weird) |

I've always said shan-toe-toe and Prish-ay, I'd accept Preesh...but not prish. Least they don't make Kain rhyme with Kind. |

I always thought it was pronounced how it was. I don't think I've really heard anyone say it another way though. Is the prologue worth buying? |
