Thought id make a seperate thread for this since we've got 4 people so far who bought rift this week. Theyre offering a free trial this weekend only. Originally the codes were being emailed out to only select ppl who have already bought the game, but i recently discovered a new way. If you go to curse.com and register a free account there, you automatically get a free trial code to try rift this weekend. Supplies are limited but it still says they have 84% of codes remaining. Great chance to check this game out for no investment if anyone is remotely interested. Also if you do go through with this, apparently there is a bug in the client download. The large download client button is the beta patcher and thus will not work. In order to get the real patcher, go down to step 4 in the install instructions and click the "or click here" link. This will get you the live patcher and the proper game client. IF anyone has problems post and ill try to help |

servers just went down for a patch. Downtime is 30 minutes. Also the 5th patch in 5 days. these guys really crank out fixes and content haha |

lol yarr I think if FFXIV had chocobos, Ishgard, or anything remotely related to Final Fantasy it would be a fuckload better and be a lot more interesting. |

There's another trial this weekend. I just got an email with 5 codes to share if anyone is interested. Also, Saturday is the end of the current world event, and its supposed to pretty fucking huge. |

At this point, I want to play with CKD folks. I don't really want to splinter off and do other MMO's unless most everyone agrees to make that change. I think I would have stuck with WoW for longer if I had been playing with CKD folks. So if everyone jumped on the Rift bandwagon, I'd probably join. But as it is right now, I'm going to hold off. Game does look like it'd be a lot more multiboxing friendly than FF14, though :p I do miss my five shamans sometimes. |

Thanks fattino. I also don't want to give up on ffxiv, but i thought that by now things would be so much better and it just isn't. I was such a strong advocate of it too, during beta... |

Over half a year and still no ishgard or any new content worth mentioning. I love playing with CKD again, but not when the game is "watching grass grow." |

I'd hop right on top of this if my crappy computer didn't make everything look so drab, even if it runs fairly decent. Things are sure more alive in the world than WoW, but I'm sure after a couple of times of doing it, I'd probably consider rifts and invasions and foot holds more of an annoyance than a feature. Even though I leveled Guardian to 15, I'd probably main as Defiant. Guardians are too preachy/blind zealotry for my tastes. |
