Its a free to play game, but you can buy weapons with real money (or for free with XP). As someone who loved Tribes and Tribes 2 this game is pretty fun so far. If anyone is gonna play this let me know, ill send you an invite so that i get an xp bonus. |

Yarr wrote: ill send you an invite so that i get an xp bonus. I see what you did there. It popped up that you were playing it on steam a few times. I checked it out and noticed it was an FPS of some sort. You mention EXP, though. Is it' like a shooter with RPG elements? |

Free to Play games usually lock most of the stuff (classes, weapons, etc) behind an EXP barrier, similar to Call of Duty progression, but slower. You can unlock everything if you're happy to grind out the EXP by playing. They then encourage you to buy XP boosts or instant unlocks with real cash (or sometimes referrals and stuff), allowing you to reduce the grind (or even skip it entirely). These don't usually cost much, just a couple bucks or something, and of course completely optional. Considering the games are free, it's not a huge deal. They have to make their money somehow, so they do it by preying on people's impatience. If you actually enjoy the game and play it a lot, you'll probably unlock everything naturally anyway. Then sometimes the game will offer a bunch of "money only" items, usually cosmetic items, clothing, and hats and stuff, just for the people who don't mind spending a dollar or two on making their character look a bit more unique compared to everyone else. As for Tribes, I unfortunately never played Tribes 1 or 2 so I never bothered delving into this one. I may have played a demo of the original Tribes way back in the day though, I forget, I sort of think I did. Maybe I'll give it a go sometime, but time isn't something I've had a lot of lately. |

July August & September are gonna be transition months for me irl so I won't be playing anything. (Even D3, won't be on much). But I'll certainly find a way to be back before FFXIV 2.0! |
