and also if you get the FFType0Negative, you will receive a code / disc (not sure on disc) for the FF15 demo when it comes out in March. ![]() |

Looks good, but then again, so did 13. I'm sure I'll buy it, but if I put it down, never to play again, after I beat the last boss will be up to how much better than 13 it was. haha. |

I think they're just going overboard with the open world aspects since they had such horrible backlash against how "push your analog stick forward, hooray you win!" that FFXIII was. |

To be honest it never did. The concept has always been trying to integrate a FF game into modern Tokyo, sort of riding off the sucess of games such as Shin Megami Tensei. I really quite like it though. Especially since the last little over a decade now the title of the series should have been renamed Final Sci-Fi. This feels so much fresher. I always hate when games try to mesh a medieval fantasy setting with a really out of place either lost civilization with high futuristic technology or the enemy has such. It's just been done to death in RPGs and isn't interesting anymore. |

It's definitely a departure from what started the series, that's for sure. But as Kio mentioned, it's been heading that way since Magitech in FF6. FF9 is the outlier, simply because that was more of an homage to all the previous FF titles. That being said, if the game is good, it won't bug me. I think I do like medieval fantasy stuff more, however. And in all honesty, it's been a long time since we've had a final fantasy title that was more medieval fantasy than it was futuristic. I'm not sure the consensus on 12, but basically FFX was around 13 years ago. FF9 is an outlier, and FF7, which is the halfway point of the series, came out 17 years ago! So we've had a lot of techie-ff stuff for some time now. But again, as long as the game is good, I'm sure I won't mind. And the boy band thing is pretty funny, but I don't doubt that there will be lots of female characters, as well, hopefully even playable! |
