I'm a super nerd, but my entire song library is made up of video game music. I don't have ANY normal music in it, not a single track. I'm quite partial to the more retro sounding stuff, like the recent Scott Pilgrim game, also the indie game VVVVVV had some cool chiptune like music. I also love a lot of games which have awesome music reserved for only a specific event battle or boss fight or hidden boss.
Of all the tracks I expected to see in Kayne's list, Cornered wasn't one of them. Totally didn't see Kayne as a PW fan. (PS: Cornered is awesome)
Scott Pilgrim Anthem, and the same game's Another Winter and Rockclub are great:
Can't believe an MMX1 song was posted without mentioning Storm Eagle's stage, New-Type Airport.
From FF5, Battle on the Big Bridge, aka "Gilgamesh's Theme". SE have made about half a dozen versions of this song over the years, in Dissidia and FFXII and a separate rock music album and stuff. Here's the original:
This one is called Positive Force from a recent indie game called VVVVVV. The entire game was made to play and sound like an old Commodore 64 game.
From Tales of the Abyss, the song that plays during the secret colleseum battle, Everlasting Fight. Which is actually a remix from an older more obscure Tales game that most people never played.
From Tales of Vesperia, Flynn's battle music which played during only two battles in the whole game, Fury Sparks:
A lot of people didn't like The Last Remnant, but that was most likely because they played the 360 version. The PC version was infinitely superior, especially with the leader limit removed. Anyway, this one's called Press to Victory, which plays during battles with the (Enlightened) Seven.
I really like the music that plays right at the very end of any Kingdom Hearts game, which is a softer version of the piano menu theme music. This is known as Dearly Beloved (Reprise). They moved the reprise version to the main menu music too since Birth by Sleep:
A recent gem I've played is called Ghost Trick on the DS. If there's anybody here who liked the Phoenix Wright games I very very highly suggest you look this up. It's made by the same guy. Has a nifty main theme too:
And finally, here's Civilization 4's great original menu music Baba Yetu. This is actually the Lord's Prayer sung in Swahili.
And that's all for now. I love video game music so expect some more next time I get bored!
ket, i have stormeagle on my playlist too. i just didnt want to list off repeat titles when the list was already so long most ppl wont bother listening to them. I'm also a huge fan of battle on the big bridge. when i got to that mission in 12, i paused the game and just listened to the music for like 10mins haha

rofl damn, it's like my gaming history in a nutshell here. was nice to see some SF2, FFT, i loved a good 95% of the FFXI music, and a bunch of it was remixed quite well by a guy called DJplaeskool. I prefer some of his mixes to the originals... some of them xD
too tired to really think of some that havent been tossed up there already. i'll try again tomorrow after work lol

lol, whisp...
Man, I hear that, and I still hear the sound of me swiping my sword, killing Rabites for their candies. SoM was such an awesome game, because it allowed you to play multi-player with your budies. I always ended up playing the girl, though. haha. Couldn't trust others with healing! Man, I guess I had the WHM mentality even back before I realized it.
Kio and Rid posted 2 out of 3 of my all time favorite opening videos and songs. I've watched the opening videos to FFVIII and Chrono Chross countless times, they are f-ing epic. My third favorite is super gay but I don't care :p
Kingdom Hearts 2 intro
My favorite final fantasy song is the opera song from FF6. FF6 is my favorite FF and i've played through it many times. This scene and song was always my favorite part.
FF6 battle music when you fight Atma Weapon on the floating island, and also when you fight the statues at the end. Amazing boss music. It gives me goosebumps hearing it now haha.
I want to replay FF6 now. I wish they would remake it for DS.
