Heh.

Attack it all you want, Everquest pioneered how 3D MMOs would be percieved. There are so many elements of EQ in FFXI it's SCARY.

In fact, for awhile it seemed like FFXI was built on EQ's source code or something...

I really wish I could sticky threads to avoid random people from making "official" threads. If I see any others pop up, I'm removing them. There is a reason they're semi-offcial. They're made by semi-official people. Haha.

You can't have it both ways. I create a regular thread, it gets locked...I create an official database thread, I get chewed.

A million different different threads that end up talking about the same thing just clutters the boards. It's not that hard to talk about what you want to talk about in a unified thread.

I equate a love for EQ to be similar to battered spouse syndrom. Everyone is constantly defacated on by SOE, and loves it. More broken content, quests, lag, graphical errors, collision problems, and beleated releases. Not that FFXI is perfect but to expect EQ2 to be free of existing trends and behaviour would be a bit naive. Besides, the graphics look like some claymation nightmare.

ill TRY eq2 as i played eq1 and liked it when i did. I quit before the 58 expansions came out so i had the pleasure of playing the first truely good MMORPG. but ill definatly switch to WoW for SURE, as a PvPer full time

I'm distinctly not a fan of Pvp. A little group on group or dueling style Pvp every now again is fun, but a game geared and directed toward Pvp like DaoC just can't keep my interest.

That said EQ2 is looking more and more promising everyday. They lifted the NDA and people bitched, and now like a week later they reveal plans that address the majority of those issues directly ( if not entirely but people are never satisified).

Looks like there will be a release date announcement forthcoming, a lot of sites are changing it from Nov 15 to Nov 8... Unfortunately I don't think the game is quite ready for that soon of a release.
