rofl, are they retarded? I was kinda interested but now Im once again back into the "dont really feel like it" area. I mean cmon, people want to move over with friends they made from other MMORPGs. I know I was looking forward to playing on the same server as everyone from CKD (and maybe more people from ifrit).

Now I cant even pick my server, and not like the ass FFXI way of not being able to pick. I mean I have no Choice of where I go. All I can do is get placed on the server that is the closest to me on the map. I could end up with non of my friends.

How stupid is this?

Yeah, I read that a while back - it's very lame. Makes it hard for established communities from other mmorpgs with members around the world to shift over.

Well they say there will be North American servers, so I'm guessing we will be able to play with each other, but only with those who live in North America. It sucks for people over seas, but I assume most of us live somewhere in North America.

But when I think about it, is it so bad that we don't have to play with asian players? Isn't that a negative aspect of FFXI?

um... this wont effect any of us unless you have a friend in asia... we live in new orleans la btw, Its north american region restricted.. so yes ur jpn firends wont be on same server :\

I 100% support this.. no more f'ing head starts on claiming mobs and culture differences.. Go blizzard!

this doesnt effect most of the people that I have been talking to here that are moving to WoW.. It's not as bad as ffxi where no matter where you live, no choice unless you buy something in game which none of my friends could afford when i got the game.. But of course since i have no friends oversees this doesnt effect me one bit (in fact it makes it better for me) so my opinion is biased.

Um... this is like any other mmorpg in business besides FFXI, you get to choose between a list of servers depending on the region you live in.

In DAoC you can't play on korean servers unless you have a korean client and a korean billing adress. Same way as Koreans can't choose between the list of servers for america region unless they have english client and american billing address (correct me if i'm wrong)

So... it's just normal really :P In stress test you choose servers, around 5 PvP servers and 5 non PvP servers, but you couldn't choose to enter a korean beta server (then again I doubt korea had a stress test at the same time)

So I really don't see anything new about this, seems the same way that DAoC, EQ, and all them MMORPG handles their business around the world (and the way we always bitch about FFXI should've been in the first place :P)

Yeah, what little chance I had of moving over to WoW was lost when I read that a week or so ago.

To be honest I care very little for the game, but since everyone here was gonna play it, I was going to give the game a shot. Playing with the people here was pretty much the only reason I was gonna try it at all, and now I'm resisted to almost literally playing with myself alone. :?

I think about how the media went nuts over FFXI's "World Pass" thing, but I've seen no coverage other than their forum on this stupid idea of Blizzards.

its not gonna just plop u on a radom server, they will have some sort of organization, im not even gonna bother to read up on it, because no one would do something this gay. Plus, ill be on a pvp server anyway which there will probobly be 1 of when the game is released so im not even worried about it, neither is my guild.

not server locked.

SO if your in NA which im sure all of you are(not sure about ket)
it doesnt effect you. This is usually the norm anyways. FFXI is the oddball

^^ Tag error, and yes...you can't just assume that people you know in FFXI that speak english are NA. If I wanted to move to WoW after and play with some of the friends I've made here I couldn't either since I live in England too. Looks like I'm staying at FFXI.

I had also planned on trying WoW out, but not going to bother if I can't play with the friends I've made on FFXI. I won't be going pvp regardless tho, so hopefully not everyone else is either. Will be interesting to see how the servers will be done.
