Well Eternal Malice members are almost lvl 45 now so we figured lets take some crazy named mobs. We were all bummin around on sunday and ran into this guy.

I missed the first few trys but there were a few deaths.

Try #3
We were trying to figure out this guys AoE pattern
We went at it like a bunch of idiots. Took 1 aoe and whiped 1/2 the raid.

Try #4
We knew we couldnt take the aoe again. If u hide in the right spot healers wont take aoe. Tank pulled him and we were goin ok. AoE started and tank was in a bad position. They started dropping 1 by 1. We ran again

Try #5
We tried the healer hide thing again but in another spot
Were goin at it and were doin good. We timed his aoe so it missed us and meele were goin at it. Mobs decides to bitch slap the tank for a few thousand dmmg and tank drops, no warning. @ sec later 2 aoe's in a row drop anyone close.

I dont know how many deaths we took but it was alot. Ill get the fraps up once i code it. 0/5 on him. Other named mob EM took was a 45 min fight but i dont have any screens.

Wow---Nice BTW gimme info on EQ2 cost per moth or yearly and gimme some details compy i never saw Screens but it looks F******PM with all info i might get into it ; ;

sorry for the crap gfx.... in raids its better to turn gfx gown or u get some major lag spikes. Its better to safe then miss a battle when 17 others blast off nukes on a pull

I killed that guy before ( dropped lvl 30-40 crap) there's 2 ways to approach it.

The hard way and the easy way.
the hard way basically is you just put your tank in a group more or less by himself, so only he eats AoE. Preferablly the tank will be lvl 50 and thus the mob grey to him ( but not to the raid, its quirky but you can have a limited number of 50s). Have the other groups contain the 3 healers + power regen you need to keep him alive + whatever DPS you can spare.

the easy way ( at least it works on other mobs) is to simply have EVERYBODY in melee range. Counter intuitive I know, but there has been several encounters now where mobs have had 2k+ group targeted AoEs and they completely stop using them so long as everybody engaged is within melee range.

Anyway hopefully this being a FFXI site nobody will notice me sneaking in l33t EQ2 tactics in.

thats an HNM....... , where are the 2-5 other guilds/linkshells that also camp this thing??!?!? Does this happen in that game?

lol we are the best on our server. Nobody can really touch us at the moment. Other guild was there later in the day. They got pwned worse then us by the AoE


Funny thing was we couldnt break him but his other raid ^^^ friend poped next to him. Had a few hundred thousand hp's and didnt drop anything good.
